For a play off semi final? I very much doubt there are many clubs that would not have the biggest game of the season for a play off semi final. The idea we could have half our biggest gate of the season is a disgrace and tbh I think Boro would just about sell out for a play off game, even in league 1. Fair enough their week to week support is shite but who doesnt turn out for big games ffs?

doesnt really feel like a big game to many people though. we've been pretty bad since january, and i think most people who have actually seen us play football give us little to no chance of getting past portsmouth, not just on footballing terms but also with handling the pressure.

obviously i'm right behind the lads as much as i can, but heart of hearts i reckon we have 25% chance of getting past these over two legs. i think the end to the season has knocked the stuffing out of a lot of people. if we had went away in the first leg and played well, got a draw or something, i think it would have added at least 5k onto the home leg

not trying to make excuses, just trying to figure out why its going to be so low

Looking forward to the game will be a cracking atmosphere no matter how many turn up.......Gateshead lads will be there.

That's fair enough. To suggest it's about priorities though and being told safc should be a priority when it comes to finances is weapons grade horse shit

Week to week I agree but for the big games like cup finals and play offs then it is about priorities for sure....Absolutely there will be some fans who genuinely cant afford it and for them Im delighted its on the box.....But 15,000 reduction on the league game 2 weeks ago? Has Nissan shut without anybody telling us or somet?

It's all about bottle alot of parttimers have lost there's...

Is the correct answer, bed wetting cowards.

Up to you. We had a crowd of 41k against them 2 weeks ago, if we drop 15k below that for a bigger game against the same opposition then we should be shot with shit....There is no way there are 15,000 not turning up because they are skint, its bollocks and excuses......Mag fans are no richer than us, pay higher prices than us but I absolutely guarantee they would sell out a league 1 play off game.

Top and bottom of it.
They would.

you said, but if you're able to go and choosing not to cause you're annoyed at the ticket price or annoyed we didn't finish top two or whatever then you're a shit fan who isn't really supporting the team.
he chooses not to go, so going by what you said, him choosing not to go, (because of the treatment he suffered) makes him a shit fan. get a life.
I’m the one who needs to get a life? We’ve been through this, I’ve already spent a fortune this season SUPPORTING Sunderland, and you’re correct only in that I won’t be ‘supporting’ Sunderland financially this weekend, as I’m not buying a ticket. As for whether that makes me a shit fan or not, I honestly couldn’t care less what you think.

I didn’t call him a ‘shit fan’ either, I mean, I didn’t even suggest that for a second, so as well as being a bore, you obviously can’t read either.

Priority is always family. ALWAYS

Going to the away leg at Pompey as 90 minutes from where I live and would definitely be at the home game too if I lived in the north east.
Anything less than 35k for SAFC in a home playoff semi final is v poor when 40k (me included) got their arses to Wembley for a meaningless match.

Mags have picked up on the 20,000 who went to Wembley but have not as yet bought a ticket for Saturday........we’ll reap what we sow

Like I said, no way 15,000 people have suddenly found themselves skint this week, its bull shit, they are spitting their dummies out of the pram cause they thought we would stroll promotion and the bandwagon has a puncture and is having to do things the hard way.

You’ve changed the goalposts here...

So now your theoretical person who previously didn’t support the club financially, but has now supported the club financially, would be both a fan and a supporter who isn’t currently supporting the club financially, so let’s still go with fan. Hope this helps.

Not really but I've realised you're after an argument so I'll leave it there ...

... it's too trivial a point to bother about tbh.

And I've never said that. It's the 'it's only £20' argument I don't like.

So they should, we would give them dogs abuse if it was the other way round as its a completely tin pot thing to do......There is not a single defence to the abuse we are going to cop for, its 100% deserved if we dont hit 35k
