A lot of meat. The only other thing I remember are Spätzle, which are egg noodley type things (essentially German pasta). Bread as well - lots of excellent bread.

Yeah, pork knuckle and spatzle were the only other things I know of.

It's very basic. Canny if you don't like proper cooking or vegetables.

Hungarian food is also very tasty and filling.

Fried Làngos with cheese and sour cream.
Chicken paprikash
Goulash
Chicken pòrkòlt
Pacal is a tasty tripe stew.

actually, Hungary excels in three things you wouldn't normally associate with the best of world cuisine...
They have a salami type sausage called Pick, which is IMO better than majority of Italian places
They have widest and tastiest range of paprika (so not the tasteless stuff they pump out and export from NL to all the supermarkets across Europe)
Depending on year, they can produce some excellent red wine that beats France and/or Italy

For about 6 weeks a year they do some great work with asparagus.

if you are referring to the white asparagus, the season has just started, and its not German... its a Dutch product, of which they export most to Germany.

Argentina just because I’m a fan of steaks.

Then you should get or eat your steaks from Uruguay... in all the best restaurants in Argentina they source best cuts from Uruguay! - the whole Argentinian steak house image is just a good business idea outside of South America ;)
