There's apartments on the sea front and the Echo 24 building. Close to the city centre and the beach. Walking distance to the SOL too

Several buildings in the Sunniside area of town have been turned into flats but they're more aimed at students so maybe not suitable. Worth a look just in case though.

I recommend one in Jesmond so he can get the metro to central, the train to Morpeth and then a train back to Newcastle for work.
