at school.

I don't want either of mine partaking in that shite, I know they don't have assembly anymore where you have to sing Hymns and say the Lords prayer (fucksake).

Should have went to school more you, like.

Nowt wrong with being taught it either. I'm glad I've got the knowledge of religion that I have, so I can make my own informed decision that I think religion is a load of shite.

its bollocks

How so?

Nothing so long as they cover Atheism and Humanism as well.
Teach kids all about peoples different views and not give one favouritism over another and let them decide whether or not it's bollocks.

That's essentially how it worked for us. We just learned about different beliefs. We weren't taught (teached?) that any one in particular was right or wrong. I quite enjoyed that class.

Whether you believe in any of the major religions or not they have shaped humanity probably more than anything else, I think its pretty important kids know about what they are. Learning about nationalism and fascism in history isnt to try to convert you to a brexiter, reading animal farm in english isnt trying to provoke a proletariat uprising and thankfully learning how to draw in art isnt necessarily going to make you end up an arts major.
