Travelling by Car to Wembley

Again the point has been missed. Is the 'concern' with me travelling so far based on my mental or physical health? Is it based on the reliability and age of my car which could hamper my journey and it's safety? No. It is based on nothing more than the fact I have never done it before. There is lots of things in life we have never done before. Does not mean we won't be able to physically do it when the time comes. If we are qualified in it or had some training in it then we can do it. I passed my driving lessons so I already had the very first basic skill of driving a Ferrari or a McLaren - the ability to get in a car and control it responsibly in a safe manner. All that was needed was tuition in the racing line and taking a corner. Any task that involves driving, providing you have passed the driving examination and passed both the theory and hazard test, you should be able to carry out successfully despite never having done it before.

Concern for your safety and the safety of other road users.

Forget the race cars and track racing. That's got nothing to do with motorway driving.

You've passed your test within the last couple of years and have never driven long distance before. You back ended someone on the way from South Shields to Nissan through lack of concentration. You've been told experienced drivers wouldn't do London and back in a day. You'd be out of hours for safety reasons if you were a professional driver.

It's not some jolly to get a feather in your cap. It's putting yourself and others at risk for kudos on a message board. As the road signs say, tiredness kills.

Ha, I didn't know this!

Good post mind

This thread is class.
We need to know
  • Which tunes
  • Which service station
  • Which supermarket
  • When he’s going shopping
  • What ket
  • Which route
  • Which poor bus is being followed
I do think it would be more sensible if he didn’t drive mind.

Years ago I drove from Shiney to Crawley and back in a day due to having an interview last minute - its very hard work, you'll be absolutely knackered and thats without the emotion of a cup final in the middle. Seriously think about stopping over the night before or after

It's this mate

I would not go there if I were you.

How happy would you be if the positions were reversed?

@ShieldsBlackCat2015 can I make a suggestion as we travel up and down a lot, set off on the Saturday evening as there is next to no traffic on the roads.
Stay at Travelodge at Toddington services south and here is a code that will give you a double room for £25 quid. FF6WGDGD

You will be well refreshed for Wembley and the journey home

I drove to Dover a few years after I passed and was surprised at how tiring it was. Just get the bus mate.
Aye, I did Sunderland to Inverness and back a couple of year ago. First time I'd driven that far since I'd passed my test 18 month before that. The last hour or so heading back had my head battered. It wasn't a nodding off type of tired, more finding it really hard to concentrate. That and thinking about how shit the car I'd bought was

Eh?

I wouldn't attempt it mate. You need to leave home by 6am and you'll not get home till getting on for midnight or later if it goes to extra time and penalties. I wouldn't feel safe driving on the way home as I'd be too tired.

Either go by public transport or book a hotel and stop somewhere.
