Travelling by Car to Wembley

Would it be too confusing to maybe buy it the day before and put it in your fridge?

I don't think so. The cat has been well and truly put among the pigeons now. I can see how that's workable actually. Choices, choices. The world is full if them.

Well he could always get people on the coach to chuck him a few smarties and some panda pop!

Good plan!! I love Smarties. Or M&M's if you have any. No Revel's though. The nut ones may hit me and cause me to crash.

Problem there is it's a Sunday morning. Shop won't open till 10am. You'd need to follow a pretty fast coach to make it for KO!

Shit. OK...errrrr..now what. Anyone have any ideas? I do like ASDA's snacks and drinks actually as a matter of fact. It is very handy for my route.

I am thinking maybe this is important. All these changed to motorways and not one thing has ever been done to the motorway services. Go to somewhere like Newport Pagnell and it is like going back in time if you read the reviews on the M1 services on . And it isn't just the M1 service stations I bet. I think not one has ever been touched ever if you look at the place going past, and the level of service offered by staff and the quality of the facilities have no doubt similarly changed one bit. I have become very skeptical about using these things. Anywhere else I can use to buy my food and drink would be very helpful actually in hindsight.

I don't suppose anywhere in the stadium would be wise to use. I remember I went to get something in the stadium for the League Cup final and it was rammed and in fact I was turned away.

I find hard boiled sweets last longer and allow for maximum concentration on the road.

Maybe a quarter of pear drops?

Perfect! I love pear drops. Not to tarty. Those acid drops will cause me to lose visibility as my eyes water through the tartness of it.

What's on the playlist?

I was hoping that is another area you good folk can help me with. I want it to be about the occasion and the club where possible. I have "Can't Help Falling in Love with You" because that is our song. I also have "The Final Countdown" because it is something we have waited for since the start of the season when some of us turned up for the game against Stoke City U21 and the moment we have wanted to see has arrived. I was thinking of adding "Que Sera Sera" for obvious reasons. Gabrielle's "Rise" is also good I was thinking because Jack Ross has transformed the team from last season and we have risen so to speak. I have to have on of course "Dance of the Knights" by Sergei Prokofiev.

Can you think of an appropriate song for the occasion?

Survivor - eye of the tiger?

I seriously think you should upload these songs on your phone, go to asda the day before to get your bait and on Sunday morning hop on a coach. I'm genuinely worried for you. You've never driven further than scotch corner which is 44 miles from my address in south shields. South shields to Wembley is 280. You may have ambitions but think about your well being and others, you could be putting other lives at risk.

Just because you have never done it doesn't mean you won't be able to. Just a case of never having had the opportunity to. Remember my trackday last year? Never driven a half million supercar before but got straight in three of them and was fine.

They're just motorway services mate :)

I recommend Woodall though, it's my second favourite services, with Gloucester being top of my list.

It's very different driving nearly 600 motorway miles in a day compared to driving round a race track though, especially with the emotions of Wembley in the middle.

I like Leicester Forest East for its uniqueness.

I said earlier, my company would consider it too much for me and insist I stayed over and I've been south of Scotch Corner before - he's gonna be sick of those songs as well, they'll be repeating before he hits the A1

Tibshelf is my choice of services heading South

Well this has escalated. I honestly think you should document your journey and day via some sort of social live video. (Not whilst driving of course) It means we can follow your progress and knowing you are safe we can all enjoy our day a bit more. If you encounter any unforeseen problems we can also offer advice on the spot.

This is the sort of life lesson that needs to be available to all. Good luck and Godspeed

Don't think I've done that one, I shall visit when I next pass

Again the point has been missed. Is the 'concern' with me travelling so far based on my mental or physical health? Is it based on the reliability and age of my car which could hamper my journey and it's safety? No. It is based on nothing more than the fact I have never done it before. There is lots of things in life we have never done before. Does not mean we won't be able to physically do it when the time comes. If we are qualified in it or had some training in it then we can do it. I passed my driving lessons so I already had the very first basic skill of driving a Ferrari or a McLaren - the ability to get in a car and control it responsibly in a safe manner. All that was needed was tuition in the racing line and taking a corner. Any task that involves driving, providing you have passed the driving examination and passed both the theory and hazard test, you should be able to carry out successfully despite never having done it before.
