Have you heard of the group "Lilly"? They are a local (SoCal) band. All super young (still in their teens) but their debut EP (just came out) has really good energy. There's probably only one song on the EP that's not really my cup of tea "Sepulveda Basin" but the rest of the EP is rather good. Worth a listen, I think.
Will download now

It reminds me of another song, but I can't think of which one. It is a great song, though, I agree. Thanks!
Yeah me as well...

Anyone know much about Vistas? I see they're playing a couple of times in Newcastle in the next couple of months (with Circa Waves at the Uni and on their own at Think Tank) and that they released a new single (Eighteen) a couple of weeks back. I've liked a lot of their singles on Spotify the past 2-3 years, very catchy indiepop, and keep looking out for word of an album but never hear anything. Wondered if anyone had seen/listened to them or knew if anything was going on with them. Like maybe they're actually shit and no one will sign them?

My first postGerry TFC gig tonight. Despite losing a lot of my favorite songs, I'm looking at it as an opportunity to hear some songs I've not heard them do for a while (Alcoholiday, Cabbage, Verisimilitude). Fingers crossed...

A bit quiet for new stuff again this week. Albums from Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Karen O & Dangermouse, Matmos, Snarky Puppy, Stephen Malkmus, Steve Adamyk Band, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Cinematic Orchestra, The Faint, Tim O'Brien Band, Todd Snider, David Ian Roberts, The Comet Is Coming, Howe Gelb, Finn Andrews and The Loads I've Undoubtedly Missed Band.

Malkmus and The Comet Is Coming are two obvious standouts for me...

Malkmus for me. I’ll probably check out Karen O & Dangermouse (it can only be stupendous or horrendous) and the Brian Jonestown Massacre

I like what I had previously heard of the Karen O & Dangermouse, I am hoping for a great album.

The Karen O and dangermouse stuff that's been cropping up on my recent playlists have been canny good, hopefully will translate into a good album.
Yeah, me too.

New King Prawn single releases today, I think it’s just the full version of the 1min sneak peek on the album promo video. Still, it’s their first release in 16 years so it’s pretty exciting. I’m a bit apprehensive that they won’t be as weird or diverse without Babar Lick but I guess I’ll find out when the album comes out next month. Of all the ska-Punk/skacore bands I used to love when I was a teenager, these (and Voodoo Glow Skulls) are really the only ones I still listen to regularly.
