Does it matter if you are from Sunderland or not ? I live in Sunderland , support Sunderland and have a season ticket but I am not from Sunderland. Does that make me a mag cockney Manc etc ? Certain people on here obviously think to be one of us requires you to speak a certain way !!? BOLLOX !
Just saying .
What was your previous username?

Seaham lad, born in Westlea council house. Left school and went South (Kent) for work then joined Army, came back for 6yrs took redundancy, went back South (Kent again) for work, came back to Seaham and still here now. Boils me piss to see black and white tops in Seaham (should be all frogmarched over the Tyne):evil::evil::evil:
All the family are well educated (in football) and follow the faith religiously (brought them up propper:lol:)
Proud father like:cool:

Born Chesterfield, father a manager in coal preparation (washeries) moved up to the NE as a baby.
Always lived in Whickham, lots of the lads in the streets roundabout were Sunderland fans so got the bug as a kid and never changed.
Coach to home games from outside the Crown, and later the bus which started in Winlaton and picked up in Swalwell and down to Seaburn.
Regular from late sixties onwards, went to every FA Cup game in '73 apart from Reading away.
Season ticket in the Fulwell and now the East stand, been all over the country to see the lads, next one is Barnsley away and I'm driving down on my own for that one.

I’m next to the beehive (the shit quality persimmon ones )
Be careful there are a few old Pit shafts behind the Beehive and up to the old railway line from Houghton Colliery to Success , my dad told me about them in the 60's. The Beehive at Sedgeletch is an old Sunderland stronghold.

In the early 80's we were on holiday in Pathos, Cyprus and met a local in his 50's wearing a Sunderland shirt.
He was fanatical and had loads of memorabilia but had never been to a game but watched us on TV. We used to call in and have a drink with him and his family each night.
On our return to UK we sent him the latest shirt as he was a canny bloke. Yassou and Haway the Lads.

I was born and bred in Southend -on-sea !! me old man was born in Sunderland and moved down south when he was 10ish....no choice but Sunderland for me!!!!

like others have said being the only lads fan in school was fun at times!!

Wheatley Hill

Born and raised in Staffordshire.

Parents and most family from new Herrington, newbottle, houghton.

Paternal grandad from southwick - MLF. Biggest MLF was probably my maternal nanna who was born in Whitburn but married my other grandad from shiney raaaaa.

To be fair most if not all of the family were either SAFC or otherwise took a passing interest in football.

Most of my family on Dad's side moved down to Staffs in the 50's/60's, when Lea Hall pit was sunk in Rugeley

I’ve got absolutely nothing against our supporters outside of Sunderland but I’ve always thought the notion that the majority of our home crowds aren’t townies is a load of bollocks.
Not sure on majority being "townies" but certainly wearsiders/city of Sunderland/Houghton let spring etc.

Mackems.
