Danish born and bred. Last May I celebrated my 20th year supporting the Lads so am now into my third decade.

My ex and I used to live in Aberden, one sunny afternoon we were sitting in a nice pub, he got the paper out and said pick a horse I'll put a bet on, I saw Durham Edition in the runners and riders so told him to back it, came in first

I only really bother with the grand national if betting on horses. Durham edition was one and if theres any to do with Shields or Sunderland

Parents and most family from new Herrington, newbottle, houghton.

Paternal grandad from southwick - MLF. Biggest MLF was probably my maternal nanna who was born in Whitburn but married my other grandad from shiney raaaaa.

To be fair most if not all of the family were either SAFC or otherwise took a passing interest in football.

I was born at my parents home in Marley Pots in the early 1950's not a hospital or anything like that. My mam was made of pretty stern stuff as I was the second of twins. I guess that makes me from Sunderland.

I don't mind outsiders being allowed in to Sunderland games but they should be charged double and not allowed in the best seats. When selling tickets for games that are in high demand preference should always be given to those who can produce a Birth Certificate that shows they were born in Sunderland - none of this points nonsense for just going to a couple of games.

My idea that none Sunderland residents should be made to leave the game 10 minutes early so that local supporters can get home easily was adopted some years ago.

So half the ground would be empty

If you think of the population of Sunderland, it would mean, when we were getting 48,000 that roughly a quarter of the population went to the game! Large amounts of our support comes from outside Sunderland, which is a good thing.
It's the local big team for lots of Durham and South Tyneside.
