My ex and I used to live in Aberden, one sunny afternoon we were sitting in a nice pub, he got the paper out and said pick a horse I'll put a bet on, I saw Durham Edition in the runners and riders so told him to back it, came in first![]()
Does it matter if you are from Sunderland or not ? I live in Sunderland , support Sunderland and have a season ticket but I am not from Sunderland. Does that make me a mag cockney Manc etc ? Certain people on here obviously think to be one of us requires you to speak a certain way !!? BOLLOX !
Just saying .
Same for meBorn in Shotley Bridge hospital and consider myself Durham.
Sounds like me - well apart from the Corby Peterborough and Horden bit. I've therefore been a Glory Hunter without much glory for more than 50 years. Looks like I might be STID!No. Born in corby, live in Peterborough. Dad came down from Scotland, started watching Sunderland in the 60s to watch Jim Baxter. Rest is history. Grandad on my mams side was from Horden.
So half the ground would be emptyI was born at my parents home in Marley Pots in the early 1950's not a hospital or anything like that. My mam was made of pretty stern stuff as I was the second of twins. I guess that makes me from Sunderland.
I don't mind outsiders being allowed in to Sunderland games but they should be charged double and not allowed in the best seats. When selling tickets for games that are in high demand preference should always be given to those who can produce a Birth Certificate that shows they were born in Sunderland - none of this points nonsense for just going to a couple of games.
My idea that none Sunderland residents should be made to leave the game 10 minutes early so that local supporters can get home easily was adopted some years ago.![]()

You didn’t tell us where you are from. I don’t know anyone who thinks you need to speak a certain way. As a matter of fact it’s like the League of Nations at Sunderland games. Cockney bastards, Yorkshire twats, Scottish wankers, Midland arseholes and Geordie bellends like me. One big happy family
Exactly this only for longer! No it don't matter. I've supported the Lads since I was 7 even though living nearly 200 miles away. Fuck the haters![]()
SR4 then SR3 .. true story[/QUOTE
exscuse me lord Potts sir but I'm from whitburn sr6 what would happen to meThen you should only be charged the standard rate for a ticket at the SoL but not allowed in the best seats.
If you think of the population of Sunderland, it would mean, when we were getting 48,000 that roughly a quarter of the population went to the game! Large amounts of our support comes from outside Sunderland, which is a good thing.Born and bred in Sunderland, but after a brief spell down south lived most of my adult life in the North West of England (Manchester/Liverpool).
Does it matter if you are from Sunderland? No - but I have always thought anybody who isn't from Sunderland and supports us must be something of a masochist.
