Pretty much exactly what I was going to say. I’m a massive RA fan and hope this turns out to be fault. However with Phoebe Bridger coming out to criticise him I suspect it may be true.

He’s got a massive cult following but not a great deal of mainstream success. “New York, New York” was a top 20 hit in around 2001/2002 - the video was filmed about a week beforehand 9/11 IIRC.
