Do you think he meant a literal miracle? Also, we don't have a decent squad, I've read it on here, they're all terrible players apparently.

Why isn't the gross spend of squads a few million? (I know that Netspend brings you lot out in hives, so I won't bang on about it.)

Genuinely heard a Leicester journo say before the game about how Puel splits opinion and that some fans would like to see either Rodgers or Rafa, Rafa is as negative a manager as anyone and how the hell does he never get any stick for it? :lol:

It’s a poor squad if you’re hoping to compete with the big 6, but more than adequate if you’re looking to avoid relegation and finish around 14-15th in the league. With that squad, an average manager should easily achieve this and with a little luck, like say playing Chelsea a week before their cup final could even end up with around 44 points.

Now if you were to have a world class manager in charge, you’d expect him to get you another 9-10 points a season and end up with 50+ points easily.

A footballing miracle is the likes of Leicester winning the league the season after successfully fighting relegation. Getting a newly promoted team to earn 44 points is ok, but that’s about it.

His entire philosophy at Newcastle, in a nutshell, is,

"My team is shit, they only stay up because of me."

No one can put up a serious argument against that.

I know what you are thinking and it is not because he is Newcastle manager (I said the same thing when he got the Madrid job) "How the hell does he get good jobs despite not achieving anything of note for a long time. Never been a fan of him.
