I'm not the man to ask. I said he was overstating it at the time and several times since on here.
Done to death this now I'd have thought. It's obvious he is looking out for his name and reputation. Moyes was the same here and , more relevant, at Everton. Always saying the odds were piled up against him.
But of the top of me head, Lascalles, Shelvey, Dummet, and Perez have all played major parts this and last season. The waiter had them when he came. And he has spent around £140m on other players added to two loan players who are valued at around £50m between them.
He is doing okay I' d say. About par, but under performing for a Messiah.
