I've never ever heard anyone on here mention the 8 mill for khazri like

Its like fees coming in dont count or something.
What did we pay £9.5 million? We’ll have structured to pay that over the course of his contract not upfront, like most deals, hence by being sold before that we’ll have still owed quite a bit on him, plus the fee we receive will be over a few years not upfront and we sold him for less than we bought him for!

Question them? Or bleat on on day after day, week after week, month after month on a subject that they have zero understanding of and speak with such authority on the subject?
Are you a politician? Or do you just vote? How dare you have a say in who gets to be prime minister

Are you a judge or barrister? But not allowed to talk about legal cases?

Yeah true, just think it goes unsaid that we've got a hell of a lot back from transfer fees this season like.

Its basically nearly covering all what we owe.

Piss poor sum of money and hope theres a sell on clause at least.

They said he aint ready for first team football so hope we at least asked to loan him till end of season to help us

If we did and player said he didnt want to then fuck off to him.

It really isn’t a piss poor sum of money for someone who has only managed to score a handful of goals in division two like, and who only has a few month left on his contract. Not sure what people expect at times.

We all trust them but what have they done that no other new owner would do? They bought the club for a song, if they sold today they would make a nice profit, we have a PR spin king in charge asking us all to get off our arses and get to games and help change the seats. They are in it for a profit and it will be big once we get promoted twice. Good luck to them what a fantastic gig they have bought into.
They took their opportunity so fair play if/when they make a profit. Who else was interested in buying us?

Do you feel envious when someone buys a clapped out empty house opposite your own for 50k then sells it for £200k a few years later? Or should you have made an offer and spent time improving the house?

Potentially, I know they're trying to move on Oviedo & Cattermole still. So then we've got the matchday revenues etc. Be interesting to see who we bring in on back of this anyways

bear in mind that matchday revenue is the total gate minus 23k pre-paid season tickets, so on a gate of 33k the matchday revenue is only the cost of 10k tickets. And you have the matchday running costs to deduct from that as well.

I’m really sorry if we’re talking at cross purposes here but I think the link is a red herring.

Bordeaux won’t have signed him at more than what they deem his value to be. Therefore other clubs would be likely to value him the same. We owe Bordeaux that money regardless, it will be a creditor on the club’s books and the timing of the payment will be contractually scheduled (probably for this summer).

The only way we may have got slightly more for Maja out of Bordeaux is because it constitutes early settlement of the debt but that amount will be negligible.

Therefore there’s no financial benefit to us selling to Bordeaux. If anything it’s a disadvantage as we lose out on the cash flow. If the interest was there then we could just have easily sold to another club with the same terms and then paid Bordeaux as scheduled in the summer.

Unless you’re saying the only reason Bordeaux were willing to stretch to such a value is because they wouldn’t have to have any cash flow outlay which would be appealing for them. I could see that, but in that case the club have got more than they would have any other way for Maja regardless of how the payments are being offset or structured.

Whichever way it’s listed I can’t see how it’s a bad deal for the club for him to be going to Bordeaux (obviously apart from us losing an exceptionally good player) over any other club.

I’m not really talking about how much we get for him from Bordeaux compared to other sides. It’s more the worry he has been pushed out to them to cover a small debt, despite comments to say we want to keep him, instead of keeping our top scorer until the end of the season.

The club the other week were saying there had been no offers for him then suddenly he’s going to a club we owe money to who haven’t heard of him.

There was newspaper reports a month ago saying the club had been touting him about for a 1.5 million cut price deal. It was denied, but it seems like that’s what we have done now.

Apologies as i agree its contract running down that makes me state its piss poor amount of money. 1.5 mill with add ons, not good enough to me, unless sell on as i mentioned.

WTF? Are you implying that we purposefully sold a player to a club who we owed £1.5M to?

My point was, good luck to them they took the chance although not much of a gamble I think it will prove in the long run. Anyone thinking about buying us would look at the fan base and think wow! My other point was that they are only doing what anyone that bought us would do, working hard to achieve their maximum

finally from SAFC...straight to the point.

Josh Maja has completed a move to Bordeaux.

The 20-year old Sunderland AFC academy graduate has joined the French Ligue 1 side on a permanent basis.

Basic, blunt and all the lad deserves for going on like a tit...

Everything starting to unravel now. Despite him paying off the debt, the Short era has effectively killed off any chance of this club ever having a half decent side again. Seems to be nasty surprises always lurking around the corner. Maybe having a team of young hungry players at this level is now our apex ?

Fairy nuff. In which case the surprise is that bigger hitters have missed an opportunity here.
