I personally think it could be a good deal, they’re good at bringing young players through and the pressure from the fans mean they could pay a bit more.

Also a decent sell on % could help us.

That's if he leaves in the summer. If you were Celtic you'd probably move now as he'd have far more suitors then.

It’s certainly something to keep an eye on. I do think that there’s a basis here, though. We need more pace, power and physicality but it’s perhaps a squad that’s better suited to the next level than the one we’re currently at.

I’m fairly sanguine with it tbh. I know it’s be better to be out of this league as fast as possible but every overspend at one level impacts our ability to spend at the next level. We will get out of the league eventually by function of the size of our club. It’s gonna be harder to get out of the champ imo - and harder still to consolidate in the prem.

If you think that you're not. I certainly got lucky that my favourite team unearthed a player that could score at that rate.

And stuart Donald got lucky that our youth team coaches, both past and present, helped him achieve his potential.

And I'd argue Maja got lucky being in the same team as Defoe at a time when Defoe felt like helping out youth players
