Any Sunderland fan who thinks those tweets are acceptable for a club our size, I just worry, and I think 6 months of PR has gone to their head.

Also all those questions are subjective to what Donald claims, I am not convinced we have much backing, that is my fear.

So your fear means that we are small time and I should therefore be worried about my opinion?

I think you need to chill out. If he wants to be away, that’s fine.

I think it’s important to note though that that’s not what SD has said. The blame is squarely at the door of his agent for this who has opened this can of worms.

I’m much happier knowing we’ve done what we could to keep him.

Your problem with Twitter is yours, either accept it’s a modern form of communication or don’t, that’s up to to you but the vast majority don’t agree with you, including me.

What? Donald took advice on this? I thought it was an instant response? A five minute deadline?
charlie can be contacted much quicker than a club social media person..because its one person to another..getting the club to tweet means talking to several people..including charliue anyway..i doubt stewart has the number in his phone of the person who does the club twitter.the line manager of that person jwill have it..thats probably charlie..so why call charlie to get the number of the person you need,,,call them hope they answer..expalin what you want..wait for them to do it...when you can call charlie speak for one miniute and type it yourself?

To be fair to Maja, the lad is only 20 years old. We have no idea of the Agent’s personality and powers of ‘persuasion’ and I use that word loosely.

From what I have read the club offered the deal Maja wanted. He is playing first team footy and scoring goals in front of 30k+ fans and working for a manager he apparently has a good relationship with and is developing well under.

The Agent’s motivation is surely only financial, not for footballing reasons.

And that's what makes it so hard to take. Look at Asoro, his mate. He's seen what can happen and he's still choosing to listen to his agent.

A contract offer 7 and a half times his current wage - he wants to stay but is listening to his agent

Fuck him if he hasn’t got the bottle to a make a decision himself he can do one

Yup. Demote him from first team now. Put in offer for Shankland. Tell agent clubs asking price, stop talking to Maja as his agent is now the mouthpiece. Club has to take s stance now......

He’s not having a dispute on Twitter. He’s telling the fans what’s going on behind the scenes to avoid confusion and conflict between the player and fans.

People need to embrace social media.
this to be honest

if the agent contacts sky sports to tell them Maja wont be signing a contract (wihout notifying the club first)...then we as fans would like to have an idea of the reasons behind that decision

our owner says we offered exactly what the agent and player asked for in their contract demands

so we know for a fact that the club has met its obligations when dealing with the contract offer

therefore the reason behind the player not signing has nothing to do with the contract we offered as it met the players and agents expectations....

I see no issue with the club making this clear to the fans

charlie does the pr has been doing it for years..this six months thing is another of your fantasis...stewart has run a league one club in the past..
backing is a question for the future..its not relevant to this because we offered the player the salry he wanted..so hasd sufficiewnt backing for this deal...

So what CEOs of other companies do is irrelevant then?

No of course not. I highlighted that many use Twitter and other platforms for their organisation’s advantage. This is exactly what SD is doing, calling the agents unprofessional actions out in public whilst urging supporters to back the player whilst he and the Manager try and sort out the situation in the best interests of the club

No I wouldn't, he shouldn't be tweeting stuff like that, if you really think he does then you don't have the best interests of the club at heart.

You aren't fans you are turning into mags with a messiah complex about the owner, can't have discussions with anyone, that is the "hilarious thing"
Of course you would. You spend half your existence having meltdowns on here man.

You don’t know the meaning of the word discussion, you take a viewpoint and get upset if anyone disagrees with you.

As for the other complete tosh about not having the best interests of the club at heart, complete and utter bollocks. In an ideal world this would have stayed private, his agent has put the word out to sky making that impossible. It’s far better for the club to get their side of story out first.
