The signs havnt been good for a while and the club have only been confident in the Gooch deal TBF. If it turns around today , then it's great news. Would be a shame too as it's another one where the agent is pushing and hawking him about. The player, with the right agent would sign IMO.
The owners and the manager were very confident Maja would sign a couple of months ago. Naively so, it could be argued.

Anyone continuously check for news on this today are going to be severely disappointed. We’ve already gone into selling/maximising profit mode. The only question now is will he be leaving now or by tribuneral at the end of the season.

The manager was confident after Blackpool as well.

A beginning of transfer window deadline seems to suggest they have already decided when he will go if he doesn’t sign.

It’s all quite strange, I just can’t see Jack Ross lying about him wanting to stay, I’d love to know the full story of what’s going on in the background.

It’s a funny one isn’t it. I absolutely believe that Jack Ross has believed he would sign throughout but he only ever speaks with the player. It’s a similar situation to the start of the season when Ross and Donald had only spoken to players’ representatives and were told that all but two wanted out. They said that once they spoke to the players themselves when they returned to training it was a very different story in most cases.

Whether it’s the players being disingenuous or the agents trying their hand I don’t know.

Agreed.

I don’t think it is strange unfortunately, I think it’s all too common in the modern game. What the player wants almost comes second. These advisors have these young kid’s ears and can steer them where they like to an extent (often towards their own personal gain).

Then you add that clubs will be offering all sorts including incentives and offers to family members and it suddenly makes it a much more difficult decision for the player. Bear in mind Maja is only 20 too. I don’t envy the lad being in this position (I know what people will say but there’s more to life than money).

I sometimes think it's best if we don't know tbh.
If we knew everything, this place in particular would hate every player (more than normal) and would have the lot strung up or banished from the club forever for SAFC not being the be all and end all of their lives.

Me too. There's always the suspicion of a greedy agent at the back of all this.

It’s really sad that young footballers allow their lives to be dictated by poisonous agents as is clearly the case here.

He’s in great form and enjoying his football and all the signs from within are that he’s happy at the club.

On the other hand we have some slimeball no doubt hawking him about to every club he can in the hope of getting himself the largest cut he can.

He's probably asked him directly if he wants to say and Maja would have said yes so that's true.

However Maja (or his agent) probably want more money or assurances in the contract to do so. Also he could have the "promise" of better offers elsewhere.

All imo of course
