Was from someone who I know knows someone at the club although I don’t often get much info from him. He did tell me PDC was gone before anyone knew (his biggest claim to fame) and also told me some info pre season about the new kit and the sponsor, and something else (which I’m pm’d someone on here about at the time). He was right about the kit and sponsor but the other thing he said hasn’t happened, but was similar to changing the badge/stand names so may well have been talked about privately then but never acted on. He has also told me something else that is so mental I don’t think it can be true but will wait and see because if he’s right about that I’ll believe everything he ever tells me again
Or he just wants to wait and see what happens. A deadline wouldn’t change that. If he decides in May he wants a new contract we wouldn’t say no.
To me it sounds like ‘If you don’t sign by Friday we will sell you’ amid a report he’s been offered about for 1.5 million (I know Donald quashed it).
The club has to protect itself also...Maja playing out his contract then leaving for peanuts isn’t a great scenario for the club either. Like I said, they can structure the deal to keep Maja’s options open and protect the club but if he doesnt want any part of that then the club has to act, imo.
Firstly, I think they should have offered him better terms. As if what I heard is correct (an average league 1 salary) then I don’t think he was likely to sign.
Secondly, I don’t think they should have announced this deadline. That is purely posturing.
Firstly, you have no idea what the club has offered him or how any deal has been presented. Secondly, why would the club be posturing? Do you really think its a good negotiating tactic to bully someone who holds all the leverage or do you think its a reaction by the club who are frustrated by the negotiations? What sounds more logical??
