Big operation near Chester Le St this morning. Funnelling people into lay-by and breathalysing everyone. Good job it wasn’t yesterday morning
I still think being caught the morning after shouldn’t result in a ban. It’s hardly the same as getting mortal and trying to drive home.
Of course. There’s a difference between knowing you’re pissed and driving and feeing fine but still being over the limit.
If you killed someone, i think you'd feel guilt whether alcohol free or not. But i still agree with you.
But i drink most nights, and always drove a van to work. I always felt sober, but there must have been Alcohol in my system.
You should be arrested for overuse of commas.Never had a drink , if I was working the next day, on the road at 6, got stopped twice, on portrack lane on the way to work, as had not been drinking I was ok , but as both were on a Sunday morning, once at Christmas time and once during the wold cup, I bet the caught a few out.
I would guess numbers available as the night shift are usually run ragged on the usual shit?Your still over the limit so that’s the law regardless of when you stopped drinking or have been to bed.
I do question though why the campaigns all seem to specifically target the morning after drivers? When they do these roadside campaigns pulling everyone in always seems to be a morning. Why not do it on a night at 10 or 11pm? Catch some that are intentionally getting pissed and driving?
There is a difference between being killing someone who walked out in front of you where there is nothing you can do and hitting and killing someone because your reactions are impaired by alcohol. The first one I would feel upset but in the final analysis not guilty. The latter scenario, I would never forgive myself.
TBF, I think Dave's driving is impaired because he is Dave.Yes it is.
It isn’t illegal because the police feel like it, it’s illegal because drink impairs your ability to drive. If you’re still over the limit in the morning you’re still impaired.
People should be less thick then.
Maybe this type of thing is the shock they need.
I don't think the two are at all comparable. One is an accident. Accidents happen.Of course there is, but call it what you want, you'd still shit about it.
They run a month long campaign here in Leeds during December. They catch about 10 people a day... at the last count they’d caught 82 people in 8 days
That's what we'll call the documentary. Come on Channel 4, we'll make a fortune.Totally Herbal.
Ok, I was being flippant. I once drove back from Durham the morning after and couldn’t believe how drunk I still felt. That was bad.Nothing more to say really.
I imagine your right however really that shouldn’t dictate the campaigns. It should be based on when is best to do it. Not sure of the statistics mind ie when the most accidents occur in relation to drink driving.I would guess numbers available as the night shift are usually run ragged on the usual shit?
