Aye 0-3. Brilliant.

aye they didn't give up

don't get your post

good series that enjoyed it, well done England, a lot is starting to fall into place

leach was the absolute key for me, wickets and control

we got just enough runs in most innings, they found a way

Tongue in cheek mainly mate. But if we'd lost 3-0 at home we wouldn't get much praise for anything.

A great series. SL showed great heart throughout which makes a 3-0 win even more impressive.

Thats my point mate, I thought they never gave up, which made for a good series

Fantastic series.

Root is growing into the captaincy. A Burns century would have been a cherry on the top, let's hope he gets on in the Carribbean.

Wonder what the team structure will be over there... Two spinners, three seamers?

Yeah I reckon so

Really not sure who I'd pick out of the spinners, we wouldnt have won without Leach's control

The side looks good, but wasn't impressed with Burns massively to be honest

SL aren't a great side at the moment, but to go over there and win 3-0, considering the recent track record of this side in the sub-continent, was a massive achievement.

As captain, Joe Root hardly put a foot wrong on this tour.

people who delight in failure

Give over

It's funny how some of the people who delight in failure are silent.
If we'd lost this board and social media would be full of them.

I've been arguing with someone on social media all day who claims the selection was wrong, and we were playing a poor SL side etc etc

some just like to moan I guess

I'd pick Leach over Rashid definitely. He had a magic spell in the first innings, but overall Leach has been more important and taken more wickets.

Burns has done nothing - the only down point of the series. Everyone else contributed. I mean he made a nice fifty to be fair, but really hasn't been up to too much.

I don't know who I'd pick out of the seamers. Might sound madness, but I'm not sure I'd pick Anderson. Stokes has been the pick by far, but I thought Broad was unlucky in this match and looked better than Anderson. In the Carribean, it won't swing - and probably won't reverse that much either. Seaming off cracks, pace and uneven bounce are what get more wickets, as well as spin.

I'd be tempted to pick Broad, Stone and Stokes as the seamers. Sounds like madness I know - but we'll have to wait to see if there's any clues in the warm-ups.

There's some interesting chat on BBC though that not picking Broad and Anderson together has freed Root up. Apparently they used to join-up and boss Cook around a bit - that's what they're saying.

What I think has been most refreshing is that they have picked a side to win in the conditions.

I’d stick with Burns, it’s alien to start against spin.
Jennings - great in the field. I still worry about him with the bat
I’d also go leach over Rashid

Yes. Make up of seam attack only real selection issue for me.

Mind, quite possible we roll up in Carribean and some of the pitches require the three spinner set-up, still.

Well done England. If Sri Lanka are not a fairly ordinary side then England made them look like one. First timr I have watched a Sri Lankan team without at least one top draw cricketer since the 1980s but nowt England can do about that.

Just caught up with the days highlights, great series win by England, Burns should get atleast another 2/3 series to prove himself for me cant be judged wholly on a series against pure spin imo.

Well this is historic imo. Never achieved anything like this since Sri Lanka joined the countries with test match status

Every single player has made a contribution in the winning of this and I could not be prouder.

We appear to have found a squad that could perform in any conditions anywhere

That’s not to say, improvement will need to be made but let’s revel in this achievement for now and worry about the rest in 2019

Thank you England

Can only echo the above posts really. Considering how poor we've been abroad recently I don't think even the more optimistic supporters expected anything like this. Credit to Root who has shown there is a Test match captain and leader in there somewhere. Can't say I agreed with all of his decisions but that's cricket. Credit also to the backroom team, led by Bayliss, for coming up with plans that worked and of course all the players. Some stood out but all contributed in some way. Just a good all round team performance.

You can say it's a poor Sri Lanka team if you like but they fought hard. We could have lost the second and third Tests if we hadn't stuck to it and taken crucial wickets at important times, just like we did against the number one Test side during the summer.

Next stop Bridgetown. Have I mentioned that I'll be there?
