There was a survey reported last week (I don’t have a link but if one of you have it please post it) saying that Sunderland is the best town/city in the U.K. for under 35’s to live in.

I miss the place like mad at times, but don't know if I could ever settle back there. Love it when friends visit and they have a great time because of the people and their friendliness. We generally paint a good picture.

Ive lived most my life on the banks of the Wear upstream, I worked in Sunderland for 12 years, and I’ve supported SAFC for over 50 so I consider myself an honorary Mackem.

Manchester has that busy bee symbol. Wonder what the Sunderland equivalent would be.

White dog shit:cool:

Funny enough I’m in Manchester at the minute. Canny Christmas market

There's a fellow Mackem working a stall in Albert Square, flopping coasters with logos and suchlike. Pop along and ask for discount. :)
:D
Might just do that. I’m waiting in a boozer waiting for our lightweight IT department to get their arses in gear and get out for a beer. We have a new office opening and I had to sign it off today - well I didn’t because it’s not up to spec.

I like Manchester especially this time of year with the markets. Going there for a night in December.

I was thinking of an SD14 logo the way Manchester has used the bee. The bee refers back to the mill workers iirc so the ship logo is actually more recent.

He used to have a few with 73 final ticket logos on. Others are tickets for concerts, album covers etc. I've known him since we were kids, MLF.

Hang on has he sold these in London before, because I bought some from there for me father, actually @HellsBells might have actually got them for me so not sure where abouts?

Lovely thread. I'm from Durham, but have lived in Sunderland, I would quite happily live in Sunderland again like.

i've lived here for 63 years and lived in 5 houses all not more than a mile from my birth place 100 yards from the beach at Grangetown
You know what for all I’ve been away more years than I lived there, if I could settle back there then I would have no qualms about living back in a 2 bed ex council place like me mams in Silky. It feels cosy
