So you lot won a trophy for losers who'd hosted a trade fair and you're trying to say it has equal merit to the Uefa cup which was for teams who actualy qualified by league placing … Righty ho :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Is English your first language or do you have trouble understanding simple comprehension? We didn’t lose anything to qualify for it, we didn’t host a trade fair and we did qualify through our league position. Well done on getting absolutely everything wrong.

The Fairs Cup was invitation only, and could not be extended to more than one team from one city, hence both Liverpool and Everton did not compete.

Newcastle were invited - they did not automatically qualify

The subsequent UEFA cup was full blown competition, but sadly Fairs Cup not much more than Texeco Cup.

Jesus Christ does nobody check their facts on here or read linked pieces? Newcastle were not ‘invited’ to play in it, they qualified automatically through their league position and the qualifying rules applied by our own FA, the 1 city 1 club rule was abolished by The Fairs Cup back in 1961. Trying to apply the early rules to Newcastle’s qualification is too ridiculous for words. If by invitation you mean like Man City being invited to play in the Champions League this season by finishing in a qualifying position in the league I’ll take the point; they don’t have to play in it after all. The rules when Newcastle won The Fairs Cup in 69 were the same as when Spurs won the first Uefa Cup in 72.

I quoted my SAFC supporting history which can be supported by many on here- you seem to be a bit reluctant to put it up against mine ;)

Anyway - despite everyone hating the mags, which i agree with you on can you find one of the 60 odd million people in this country that arent SAFC fans that would argue we were bigger than them. Just one will do. They are bigger club, we are better club.

Why is it the opinion of the people who know the least about it that matters the most in this argument?

I'm not sure who you're trying to convince because apart from yourself and the closet mags on here, nobody's buying your daft argument.

There are millions of educated football fans up and down the country who are passionate and knowledgeable about football and they dont have the rose coloured specs that our fans have or the mags for that matter. They can be objective and i'm only asking you to find one out of those millions that would suggest we were a bigger club than them. Only one - is it really too much to ask? If you think we are bigger than them you are utterly biased and deluded. I think we are better than them and we have far more honest and grounded supporters than them - although this thread doesn't help. Makes us look a right bunch of deluded tools.

I've not said that, it's you that has been definitive. Now since it's so obvious give me the facts that back you up.

Well I think you and @Zinedine Kilbane are both closet mags your posting history strongly suggest this I'm a Sunderland fan of long standing and I don't feel the need to justify myself to a Mag like you. Like I've said on numerous occasions we have more titles and more top 3 finishes so how the fucketty Fuck can you lot claim to be bigger. Bigger egos and bigger bellies. I'd definitely agree with that. The fact you're still pushing the mag agenda speaks volumes.

Won a few cup ties iirc. One of which you should remember tbf.
We won a couple of games last season - does that mean we won the Championship?

They played in Europe without winning any domestic cup to qualify. I would imagine there will be less than 5 clubs in that little elite group - probably all similar shite teams as well.
