Makes a lot of sense all of that.

Douglas has written an article about whether he can be criticised, Bong eye has written an article saying Ashley “would have the nerve to sack him”
The narrative seems to be changing, I wonder if it’s because they suspect something and are trying to start to break the news gently to the Raferites.
I hope not :)
Well they've all said WEGO so presumably the next boss will be leading the team out to an empty stadium?

Obviously wego is just more sentimental bullshit and if they get the slightest new manager bounce (which they will as the dreary doom of Rafa's tactic s is depressing) they'll all forget about Benitez in a heartbeat!

It will be interesting if they do get a bounce, to see them trying to justify why a new manager is getting a tune out of players that wurld class Rafa couldn’t manage :)

Also been terrible in his two jobs after Newcastle.
Got Palace to Wembley, didn't he?

You can't scrape a title
And yet, they managed it. Goalkeeping error from Stockdale in the dying minutes handed them the title

In what way?
I'd guess that he means that because so much was spent (transfers and wages) on good championship players capable of getting promoted first time of asking, it's at the expense of being able to spend that sort of money or pay those sort of wages in the PL.
Maybe if players for the CH campaign had been better value on lower wages, RB would have upwards of 50m to spend now

Most days out of anybody top of the league, most wins, best defence, joint highest scorers.
94 points Newcastle, 93 Brighton.
Newcastle were 12 clear of 3rd place.
Newcastle and Brighton were both excellent that season. If it was won on something low like 76 points and there were several teams all close to us,then you could say it was scraped, but Newcastle and Brighton were both miles better than everybody else.

Its funny how before the season started, on here people were saying we'd struggle, Benitez had no experience in the championship, mid table at best, but once we've won the league it has become "well you should've won it anyway, all that money". So we either acheived par, or exceeded expectations. Unless it should've been won in march or something which would have meant a 120 point season.
£5m on someone as shit as Hanley when Duffy was available at the same price

World Class manager for you though

Did Man City scape the title when Aguro scored against QPR?

Doesn’t stop people’s having an opinion and quite often a valid one.
Nah, I'd take someone's opinion who actually goes to games than someone who watches on the box.

When I worked away and could only attend a few games I would listen to the lads who were at the games I wasn't rather than give my opinion from behind a tv or laptop.

I wonder how many non attending Sunderland fans are on a mag forum spouting nonsense?
