It’s funny that when any of the great unwashed are interviewed recently, they all tend to say something like “I’m still 100% Rafa but .....”, “I love Rafa but.....”

They still can’t bring themselves to be critical of him without saying how much they love him. It’s comical.

It would be an admission that, a bloke who won the Champions League in 2005 does not render them a big club. Especially in 2018 and they simply can't handle it.

I've had a very enjoyable pint with a friend of my uncles, who is a mag but a grounded one, having been a season ticket holder for many years.

He hit the nail on the head when talking about Rafa.

He basically said that since the 90s Newcastle fans need either something to publically celebrate or something to publically hate in order to keep the media talking. Because otherwise the club is just another middle order team.

They get good crowds. But that's never been matched on the pitch for over 20 years. So they need to justify why that isn't the case. But they also need something to hang on to justify attending.

Rafa good = Ashley is Evil
Players under Pardew Great = Pardew bad manager it's his fault.

They just enjoy a pantomime.

Well they've all said WEGO so presumably the next boss will be leading the team out to an empty stadium?

Obviously wego is just more sentimental bullshit and if they get the slightest new manager bounce (which they will as the dreary doom of Rafa's tactic s is depressing) they'll all forget about Benitez in a heartbeat!
The funny thing is they won’t forget about Benítez. It will always be the story they tell there grandkids. “Wor cud hav bean in the Champonions Leegee fiynal, if Ashlee gave wor Rafa hundreads of millions”

Apparently, they were competing with Real Madrid, Barcelona and Man Utd right up until Ashley took over:

"Can you explain why Real Madrid, Barcelona, Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool spend big on their team/squad? We KNOW we can’t compete with these teams anymore. it coincided with Ashley taking over"?
Seriously?

How long before Rafa and Mike turn up on Jeremy Kyle Show

Maybe on the back of this?

Ashley told him to get on with the job he's being paid for instead of arseing around on tele?
So the problem now is "not been lucky enough in the final third"?
So presumably Ashley needs to put his hand in his pocket and buy Rafa some luck??

I was at college there the day Cole was sold n everybody headed to the ground.

Not an act Id expect of Sunderland fans, some may call it passion, I call it lunacy.
