My son was referred to an orthodontist in Darlington when he was younger, I took him down on the train and got a taxi from a rank near to the station to the dental practice as I don't know Darlington.

The bairn was wearing a SAFC shirt and got loads of abuse from the taxi cab people . I could actually hear them talking about us !

When we came out we went into Darlington for a spot of lunch and some shopping there was a covered market of some sort where I was buying a card again the stall holder had a go at the bairn, I said something along the lines of I think I'll just buy from another shop as he's had nothing but abuse all day. Couldn't have changed their tune quick enough " Oh no don't do that we're 50/50 here ! "
Darlington mags

I just wish Mackie from Hexham could read these sarkie comments he's a Northumbrian born n bred and one of sunderland finest along with his bro Davey in Haydon Bridge. ... I think a couple of folk on here should emigrate to south Georgia.
Met him many a time . Does he still go to games

They are an utter embarrassment and it kills them that the proper mags don’t show them any respect.

Things might have changed, but a few years ago you could buy Durham Mags merchandise. Pure desperation to be accepted

What I detest even more is that there are mags very close to home in Shiney Row

Peter 123 is 18 and clueless if he believes that bollocks

It is incredible that mags think our accent is strange yet there's is the queens english.
Me and @Kid Galahad have just come back from a week in Nerja where 6 jawdee lasses were on same complex. You've heard nowt like it man - and No, there's no pics ya pervs

Been talking to Mr D and Just called to mind another story!

I'm old enough to remember before the leisure centre was built how horrible high street and Newcastle road baths were so me dad would take us to what we used to call Felling baths, I've discussed this before with @Son of Stan think they were called Leam Lane or something any how they were miles better than our Victorian ones

Anyhow I remember I was helping my little sister get changed and can't recall exactly what I said but the lasses in the next cubicle went "Eee listen to them two poshies "

 I worked at Leam Lane Library many moons ago. I probably sounded like royalty. :)

Are there any mackem mags? This would not happen would it
There's always been the odd few but I remember when the bandwagon really started to roll about 94ish seeing a Sunderland Mags banner at one of their away games, I was gutted but was kind of expecting it the way things were at the time.
Washington was about 50/50(I stand to be corrected) in 73 when I moved here but it must have went about 70/30 by the mid 90s and I know of a few who changed their colours in their 30s one of whom was a Hendon lad who only moved here a few years earlier.

I telt everyone that Cheryl Cole/Tweedy played her accent up. It’s pathetic

I'm from Newbottle and if I see any Mags i'll bray them arl ower.

Also Shiney Houghton Philly Herrington and Penshaw I think.

I'd say round here is 90% Sunderland. Do get the odd black and white like.
Penshaw has always had mags. They all used to drink in the Bird in Hand. Back in the eighties most used to go to games.
A bus used to pick them up for away games. They were all nutters .
