Durham mags.......

I'm sure all Durham mags are quite happy with their lot. As I'm sure are all the Geordies who support Sunderland. The idea that you can accept supporters from other parts of the world supporting Sunderland but can't accept those from Durham supporting Newcastle smacks if jealousy and bitterness.

There's always been a big mag following there. Always will be.

Just saying something doesn't automatically make it true, what you've just said is nonsense.

I don't get the jealousy or bitterness but otherwise you're correct

Refuting something and calling it nonsense doesn't make it nonsense. Durham has always had a large following of mags and they're entitled to support whoever they choose.

It wasn't aimed at everyone on the thread. I should have made that clear.

At the end of the day does it really matter who people choose to support? Everyone has their own particular reason. I was born in Hartlepool and have lived in London for almost 40 years.

Only a group of people, as thick as the Mags, could base an 'insult' on an accent

I agree with you mate.

I was talking more about Sunderland supporters in general, wherever they're from.
See "cheesey chips, bloo pop, wheez keez" as examples

Players in Durham packed with Plastic Dh Mags ,, didn't like it when Man Utd scored there 3rd and found out we were Sunderland fans in there
What's it like in there?

No there hasn't . Was minimal pre 92

Yes.

The Northumberland based Sunderland supporters don't put on ridiculous pantomime 'Mackem' accents.

They use their normal voices and accents.

The Durham Mags are pathetic beyond belief.

'Hooway tha Toon, wah grate us like bonny lad, why aye'
Don’t get me started on this. A lad I went to school with (from peterlee) gives me shit about stuff like “weez keez” and “Cheezy Chips and blue pop” we lived in the same f***ing street until we were 15 ffs
Now he’s claiming he “lovz tha toon”

Proud to be from 5 generations supporting SAFC, that's from the beginning of the club - three as exiles, one never having lived in England. Anyone can choose to support whoever they like of course, but I pity slightly those who have switched support - they have no real sense of being permanently bonded to a club, which is surely where the real passion comes from. If you have thin or no grounds to link you to a club that is no crime, but things like making it up, changing your origin, altering your voice, attempting to belittle in particular those supporting their local club wherever that may be - all of that is IMO pathetic.

Well said and for the record, outside of the NE, people think we all talk the same. I’ve lived in exile for 27 years so I’ve plenty of experience here.
