Who mentioned anything about 6am? The man turned up in order to wait until Ashley left the restaurant, however long that was going to take. I read in here that was 10pm so I'd consider that all evening if not technically all night, wouldn't you?

Stabding up for what they believe in and comparing it to Wall Street and the manipulation of markets, leading to people losing their livelihoods and homes? Are you seriously comparing that to a bloke not putting his own money into your football club for you to sign more players?

You said ‘all night’, I’d consider ‘all night’ from dusk till dawn.

Those who protested last night are standing up for what they believe in same as those in Wall Street stood up for what they believed in. The legitimacy of both is open to opinion, that was my point.

Ah, attendances as a comeback? Why not mention Adam Johnson and you'll nearly have a line on your card?

Got a few more yet and it wasn’t me that brought up attendances first tbf. Just trying to dissect the logic in the post.

It’s more an adressing of the suggestion that sticking your fingers up at a limited group is fine as long as it’s not every single Newcastle supporter which is crackers.

This new narrative that attendances dipping was only to remove Short from power is hilarious tbf.

He’s gone now so everyone that has that stance can come back now, btw.

They have came back, right?

people stayed away cos the football was shite, the owner barely spent a penny and when he did it was on utter shite, the managers he employed were utter shite and it was obvious that we were fucked, so people naturally stopped going. its going to take a few seasons to get those fans back after 6 years of utter shite, its up to the club to entice them back. i'd prefer apathy, than losing all dignity

Ashley not selling the club is down to his position on the asking price and wanting to recoup his investment.

If someone or a consortium match what he's after then he'll sell.

Protests wont alter this.

He’s not selling this season judging on what he has said today.

Unless he gets a ridiculous offer, he’s never selling. He’s full of shite.

What exactly do they "believe in" then?
Your local paper was talking about beating Barcelona in the Champions' League this morning in relation to last night's fiasco. Is that it?

Fair enough (I disagree). But the first part is your own admission and the second part is just opinion.

I’m not going over it again, man. Me and other Newcastle fans have spoken at length about the state of the club over the last few years and it’s just met with the usual shite ‘we divvnt undastand’, etc.

Wouldn’t know what shite the Chronicle write or put any currency in it. It’s a joke of a publication.

These shitty protests come along every time these fuckers get upset over MA, they achieve fuck all, it’s gives everyone a laugh whilst they think it makes them look the best fans in the world because they care and nobody else cares like they do.

This current plight has moved up a level as it now involves an MP who embarrassed herself on national tv, she cares so much she couldn’t even pronounce the managers name!

I’m glad the way we conducted ourselves with our previous owner. It seems Mr SMB is fully behind the way their fans are behaving, like spoilt fuckin brats.

Long may this current circus continue.

The ridiculous offer is hard to prove as serious bids have to comply with NDA's.The narrative on Tyneside has always been that he's full of shite but put your hatred of him aside he's businessman and a thick-skinned one at that.Thinking shop shouting et all will influence his decision to sell is daft imo.

I've heard Newcastle fans waxing lyrical about Freddie Shepherd of late. You could have gone under with him in charge but not one protest. Ashley has you solvent, is paying the manager of all of your dreams a King's ransom and you finished 10th a matter of months ago. He's evidently a bit of a bellend but your infrastructure seems in decent health, if someone meets his asking price.
Forgive me for not understanding why grown men would go on as they did last night.

Sticking his fingers up like a teenager to a few people who call him names definitely proves he has the hide of a rhino like.

There were protests under Shepherd.

‘All night’

They were hardly there from 7pm to 6am, man.

I don’t think you can stifle those for fighting for what they believe in. Maybe if there had been a concerted fans movement while you were dropping two divisions it may not have happened. Do you consider those who did the 1% sit in on Wall Street the other year deserving of ridicule?

I don’t see much widespread ridicule from other supporters (outside of Sunderland) and the media on this fwiw. The tone is starting to shift a little in the media too
The fact the sad bastards were there is enough 5mins or a whole day ... What a weird bunch of ***** yous are

So one person calling him a name and sticking a camera in his face makes him ‘thick-skinned’?

If anything you’ve weakened the case for his argument.

I never mentioned the thickness of his skin.
He did something childish, no question but there was a decent gathering of childish folk who shpuld be thoroughly embarrassed and not wanting to bring this to the media's attention.
