Best band ever?

just booked tickets to see Queen Extravaganza (tribute band) the lead singer is class.

I wish I was old enough to have enjoyed them when they were about.

Wembley 86 looks unbelievable.
biggest selling band I believe.

Wembley 86 was the year after Live Aid I think and they blew all their contempories away that day so probably the best live band on the planet at that time.

New film coming out soon as well.

I’ve seen a handful of live acts but it’s never felt amazing.
Green day and imagine dragons were both good but when I watch Queen live it looks amazing
Sadly too young to see them live with FM but seen the Adam Lambert show. If Roger Taylor and Brian May were this good in their 60's they must have been pretty special in thier absolute prime with Deacon and Freddie.

I remember watching live aid all afternoon as a 13yo, thinking was pretty boring as old fart music mainly, until queen came on. Still kind of old fart music as my Dad loved them, but as history now knows, Queen gave live aid (to me anyway) that injection, he got the crowd going for their 20 mins set like no others before or after their set. I watch it it on youtube now and again, gives me tingles still.

Certainly one of them, loads on here don't rate/like them but they pretty much nailed the rock pantomime opera genre they basically created, and Freddie was a total one off force of nature on stage, gutted that I had to miss them play the shit tip because it clashed with my summer holiday, everyone I know who went said it was something else.

Crap on here iirc.

You do realise they changed the singer for Queen Extravaganza?

Saw them at Sun City in 84 on the works tour, brilliant band. Was lucky enough to get tickets for the Freddie tribute at Wembley as well. Still got my programmes from both events, in fact got 2 copies of the Sun City concert

I was at the tribute concert too. Great game, missed the match though.

My mam went to see Mott The Hopple in the 70s and queen were the support act. She said after Motts gig the fans were singing bring back queen.

Saw them at The Mecca on Newcastle Road when they were a proper rock band (first album), brilliant.

Sadly they turned to AOR shite after that mirroring Rod Stewart's business model...

Can't stand them.
One of only two acts where I will turn the radio off if they come on, the other being Whitney Houston.
Both utter shite.

AOR? Are you absolutely sure about that? I think of a handful of their songs that fit that description, other than The Game album which was, near enough, meant to crack the American market and did.
