It's a joy to watch feeding birds imo mate, me mate mcginty lives up near hexham, spends a fortune on seeds and nuts for his feeders. worth it though, I can while away a good hour or so watching the comings and goings. mesmerising's the word.

I’ve noticed loads more bees this year.

Had loads of wildflowers in my garden this year instead of the usual bedding plants. Far more colourful, easier to manage and much better for bees and other insects.

If you’re a gardener and want to help, plant winter cabbages and let them bolt. The flowers in April, when there’s little else, will really help the bees. There’s enough flower heads and leaves for you too. Ours were drowned in bees.

They don't compete though. They eat different foods and have different solutions for survival.
