Absolutely shocking that. As a manager no matter what team, especially after the start they’ve had he should be trying to win a game to build some momentum. Making his excuses already to make himself look better when they scrap a 1-0 win.

They are playing Man City at the weekend, so while we know shocks can happen, let’s face it it’s unlikely they will win.
So put out a reasonably strong side, and go for it, rather than using the weakness in the squad as part of his battle with Ashley.

Haway Janey he'll be putting all his efforts into getting the journos on his side by trying to manage a draw with 19% possession. If he manages that he'll get the plaudits he wants from the media and the fans. He's an operator and it's all about him keeping up his diminishing profile as all the managerial fuss in the PL tends to pass him by these days

Couldn’t agree more, and in playing his political games, he’s taking the pee out of the fans paying money to travel, fans he claims that he loves, but he knows he can get away with it because he’s Teflon and it’s all Ashley’s fault

A world class manager would be at a world class club.

When he leaves Newcastle he won't find any top clubs wanting him.

He'll just join the circuit with the likes of Pulis, Hodgson, Hughes, etc.

Yesterday's men .....

All those top jobs in the summer and not one club wanted him, tells its own story tbh

Loses most weeks. Does nowt but make excuses. Perfect job really as they adore him for it

They used to crucify Pardew for his excuses, style of play and failure to 'push on' ... now they adore someone who's excuses are tiresomely predictable, who's football is dire and who relegated them with his caution.

There'll come a time when they'll look back and wonder, 'What was I thinking'

Let's see how short their memories are if they lose tonight.

As he and his men applauded, they were greeted by jeers.

"We're s**t and we're sick of it !" screamed the disillusioned Geordies.

They did label Ashley a "fat Cockney b*****d", which was not strictly accurate... he is not from East London.

Anything else in the chant is subjective.
