Was there today, in the Grand Stand. Great partnership by Bairstow and Woakes. Brilliant moment when Woakes got his hundred, disappointed with Bairstow’s loose shot in the 90s.

Weather permitting, we will win this.

Maybe but not at 130-4

We also don’t need to win this match
We played as well as we could today. Can’t see any criticism which is valid. We need to declare immediately when play resumes.

Our reviews today were pathetic. Mind, I did think Pope’s was too high in real time (I was sitting side on). But he was plumb.

India’s reviews were crap too, that Sharma catch/LBW was never out in a month of Sundays).

I have been as critical as anyone of our attitude to test cricket but the best approach for this match given the weather forecast was to blast 250+ and put them back in.
We probably have 110 overs to bowl them out (looking at the weather). I wouldn’t criticise our approach today. But if we don’t declare as soon as play resumes tomorrow (be it 11am or 4pm), I’ll be annoyed. There is no way we can lose this match from here, let’s look to win it

We did play well. But the position we are in is very much due to Bairstow and Woakes as we were wobbling

We were, aye. But India bowled well, it’s allowed and happens. Even at 130-5, I never felt in danger or thought we’d lose the match. Being bowled out cheaply (say for 200) could have ironically worked for us, as I reckon we could have had India 3 or 4 down tonight.

Our bowling abilities in English conditions mask our major flaws. I’ll back Jimmy and co to bowl these out on Monday but our batting is a recurring issue. We lack technique, we lack doggedness, and overseas we lack bowling penetration.

Anyway, I’m pissed in Camden after a good day at Lord’s and I thought we did about as well as we could today. Scored quickly and accumulated a big lead. The weather may foil us, I’m not sure India can.

Wokaes is superb like, on all three honours’ board at Lord’s, there can’t be many who have done that. Interesting to compare his and Stokes’ stats, lucky to have them both for selection.

Woakes is a very good number 7 or 8 and with Sam Curran and Rashid to follow, it means we bat deep.

Stokes and woakes in the same team in future? Drop Curran from the current XI?

I’d say drop Buttler unless they are going to give him the gloves but I can’t see that happening
Be the young lad imo. That's no disrespect to him as he has performed excellently.

I think woakes in this test has played his way into the team for the rest of the series.

If stokes does return, we would have four top class seamers.

With rash and if necessary root to bowl spin

If Stokes gets found guilty can he still tour? Visa with a criminal record?
