Mortimer & Whitehouse Gone Fishing

“Why do they call them the Black Mountains?”

“I’ll give you one guess”

“Oh fuck off”

Honestly this is the best programme I’ve seen this year. No script just two old mates having a laugh. I absolutely love it.

Couldn’t agree more mate, I absolutely love Mortimer. Could listen to the bloke waffle on all day.

Whitehouse is a funny fella as well.

Was canny, better than most shite that gets put on. Helps that it's 2 likeable fellas in it too.
Its probably better than 95% of stuff on telly. Which is quite depressing.

You fish? I used to years ago up Silky lakes. Dunno what it’s like up there these days.
Netting sticklebacks isn't fishing ffs. ;)

Couldn’t agree more mate, I absolutely love Mortimer. Could listen to the bloke waffle on all day.
Said it before, I'll say it again. @Ron Mael, you're a lucky Kernt working with Bob every week.:lol:

It’s Barbel fishing for me. Just wish I had more time.
Carp fishing is too commercial but hook a Barbel in a River it’s like hooking a torpedo.

Mind you raked out a small pond yesterday that joins the river
Cherwell, full of lily pads and used to catch some decent Rudd in it a few years back. Only a mile from the house and in the middle of nowhere.
Going Wednesday night for a few hours just to see what is in there.
Sadly Otters have done so much damage to some cracking fishing down here.

My favourite stretch on the Thames is a shadow of itself and didn’t catch a Barbel last season.

Really enjoyed both episodes. Just really good craic/crack* and an easy watch, actually a little bit thought provoking too - like the chat with the Reverend. Two funny men who clearly have a strong friendship, let the cameras roll and it makes topper telly.

*Delete as appropriate based on how much of a little tinker you are

I wouldn't mind getting into fishing but haven't a clue where to start or what to buy - aye I know a rod, aye I know some kind of bait but wouldn't mind a quick demo from someone.

for pure relaxation fly fishing is the way to go

its almost zen like once you get casting

its also none of this sitting in one spot lark, put all you need in your pockets and go for a wander

If I am up at cow green I probably do about 8 miles..so its relaxing and its exercise
