Gigs back at sol

Not just about the band though, it’s ends up being the entire days event.
Went to Sid James last night, bloody aweful place and the stadium was terrible for a concert, they seem to have the stage on an angle, it echoes like fuck, so the 2 smallest stands can accommodate many people.
Love it when bands are here, purely as I live a walk away from the SOL.

Hope you pissed all over the place.

I’ve been to 3 gigs at SOL, and every time the queue for metros towards Newcastle has been at least an hour. It’s a shambles.
I was through Newcastle yesterday ( not to see the ginger one, I might add ) and loads of roads getting in were closed and there was detours all over the place. f***ing nightmare.

Cheers Edd, you ginger bastard.

The problem with having a number of bands on is you would have to pay multiple bands and all the costs associated with that.

I would imagine there are a few more bands than what have been mentioned that could make it worth while. For instance i saw The Killers and Green Day at hyde park and it was a sell out of around 60k and that shocked me just like the tickets Sheeran has sold.

Green Day rarely play UK dont they?
Did 3 or 4 arenas last year (which pretty much sold out straight away), which was 1st in about 10 years. Not as popular as what they were but possibly an option if they only did 2 or 3 uk stadiums.

Was there last night, the stadium is shite for concerts although Sheeran was very good.
Walked into city, had a ruby, still had to wait in a taxi queue for an hour.

Was that not due to the Blaydon Race ?

Yeah never understood it wasn’t there that rumour the stones wanted to start there european tour here I mean they could have sold out 10 nights no way you’d lose money.

Did those teeny bopper things NE live do well?

As with what others have said a more festival type thing with several bands on could be the way to go given that the number of turns that could sell 40-50k is fairly limited.

Didn't Len Lowther put something for the teenies on in the SOL car park? There were more stalls than punters - shame really as some of the kids playing were good.

Charlie lad seem so you and Mr Donald are doing requests since we can now afford the leccy bill again. Can we get the lasers back on? The ground looks proper chos

I have seen a few people asking for this. At the end of the day its not very sustainable in this day an age to be burning X no kW hours on these night after night. Electricity should not be wasted on frivolous uses in my personal opinion. They are extremely powerful lights and would therefore cost a fair bit to run and for what real gain? Although its not the actual cost that's the issue, its the cost to the environment. If we are going to do it then do it for an hour or so before midweek games and for an hour after the game if we win. Not every bloody night.
