Doubt is inbuilt into our phyche, some can forget slights easily while for others it takes time. Some will never forget.......You can try to make what to you appear to be really relevant points about what you see as negativity, but for some it is caution, views of which I can understand both points.

Your opinion is your opinion and while it may appear matter of fact and may be correct in your eyes and right for you, but irrespective it is not a one size fits all and a viewpoint to which everyone buys in.

Let’s just Agree to have our differences and support the club how we want to be able to do. There is no right or wrong way, no book or manual.........just support however you feel comfortable. If posters have a different view point to you does not necessarily mean you or they are right or wrong......you have a different opinion, so what, opinions are like buses, run fast or slow and despite having a timetable occasional maintenance or breakdowns will effect the service.

Your views matter a great deal to you, but to be honest effect anyone else.......meh nope. Whether they or disagree does not matter it is about the journey, we are currently on a new page of a new journey. Let’s hope the result pleases us all as we approach journey,s end and in the process enjoy the ride.

Mind, this is deep and reflective and may be too much, so let us end where we can all agree less those not of our support. Ha Way the Lads, The new management and us!

That’s my thoughts plus I think Short would have left Sunderland screwing some banks and suppliers out of monies owed. His other business might have used the same suppliers Sunderland used ie a US Bank for that £68 M which was cleared off....

My feelings about Ellis Short haven't changed.

I said when I found that he had left the club debt free.. ...it's like someone who accidentally burns your house down because of their stupidity but then risks themselves to save you and you family from the flames . Naturally you would be very grateful to them for the rescue but at the end of the day they are the reason why you are now homeless and traumatised and having to start from scratch.

I am afraid that I found almost ten years of Mr Short's awful running of the club a bit too much

We were that, making up the numbers in the worlds richest league, dishing up turgid football and setting out to lose well, conditioning ourselves to be mindful that we had never had it so good etc etc, fans turning up and expecting nothing, not even to be entertained. What is the point?

Short provided the platform to compete in the most target rich football league currently in existence, and then hamstrung his own mount.

It was negligence across the board, and largely (latterly at least) pathetic to watch.

They have already said that there are future payments owed to him. Not just the £40 million for the sale, but he will be owed a bonus for promotion to the championship and premier league.

The other consortiums interested were going to mortgage the club according to SD. Short has sold to the right people in my view. Onwards and upwards.

I'm not against this at all. The new owners seem to have their heads screwed on.
Its just that all of sudden people are saying that short is a great chap.
He hasn't just given us £150 million because he's nice. It was obvious that bonuses would be made to him if criteria are met. It was mentioned that that was the case on the talk sport interview I think.

I've no idea what the arrangements are marra I was quoting what SD said about porting the debt. I wouldn't begrudge Short getting a few quid back. He's lost plenty trying to keep us in the Premier league. I believe SD and CM and JR will be good for us.

He’s given the club £150m not because he’s nice but because he has integrity. He made a right royal mess of running this club ... no plaudits there. But he has cleared up his own mess. Many in this world would not and most if not in every similar football situation haven’t.
He’s being lauded for his integrity nothing else.

'Haway' was working double shifts posting endlessly about how Short was robbing the club, taking us into admin, etc.

As far as Short being just a businessman and incapable of generosity of spirit ... that's bollocks.

One of the people I worked for.made an anonymous charitable donation of £9 million.

Short took the Sunderland supporters to his heart and tried his best .... he fucked up and was man enough to say so.
