Worst Boss You Ever Had?

Had a boss you was an outright drunken bully. Fucked off to the bar at about 11.30 every morning, rolled back in at around 3.30 pissed as a fart telling everyone how useless they were. He was once that pissed he got on the fork truck to show how to load a lorry properly and promptly drive the thing into a wall. We couldn't get the forks out of the wall without knocking it down. He only bullied people that wouldn't stand up to him, all the guys with a reasonable amount of service just told him to fuck off. I kid you not

Years ago I was in a custody battle for my kids with my ex wife's husband after she'd died. My head was all over the place and my boss admitted afterwards that he kept putting more and more work on me until I stopped making mistakes. I despised the man.

Had one when I was in accountancy practice - there was just me, her and a receptionist in the smallest office of a 3 office firm.

She criticised everything I did, went into everything in minute detail (made me change a £1,500 accrual by £12 once) and spent most of the time on the golf course leaving me alone in the office (despite telling me she couldn’t trust me to do anything).

Shortly after I left the other partners “retired” her.

Never had any bother when I worked for other people .Bosses where generally very grateful for my efforts .
One colleague of mine years ago who was a foreman also would bully the joiners and especially the labourers .He went to far with a lad called “Dingle”,so Dingle pissed In his flask .

Generally I’ve found blokes who are on an power trip at work are absolute wimps at home who’s wives thrash them verbally within an inch of their miserable lives.

None really. Most of mine have been ok. The usual amount of halfwits who believe that because it says on paper it can be done in x amount of time so it should be, clueless H and S bods that have never even held a pair of grips.
Worst ones are usually the poachers turned gamekeepers who were arseholes on the tools, fiddled like fuck and then go all out to close every loophole now they are of the tools and don`t want anyone earning more than them, we have a few of those.
Current depot manager is so laid back we have to keep giving him a kick to see if he`s still with us

When I worked for a bank I had a boss who was a cokehead, but then quite a few of them were. When I first started I just saw him sniffing with bloodshot eyes and thought he had allergies or something.... oh how naive we can be at 16.
Had another boss (thankfully it was just on one paticular project and not my entire job) who would just ask ridiculous things of people. He had a go at someone because they didn't what work they'd done on a project 18 months prior, just picked a date out of thin air and expected them to know what they were doing. Crazy.

I had one who hired me and some girl at the same time who was obviously a mate of hers. Got me to do all the graft whilst they chattered in the office. Turns out my co worker got into trouble from our contacts for not doing enough work. And when it came to writing reports I had over 249 to do and she had 60 (both were the responsibility of my boss to write). My boss then creates a new management position, invites everyone to apply, but then bad mouths all the candidates publically whilst I'm in the room. Tells my co worker she got the job before the interviews and reports me for taking an unscheduled holiday when my wife was suddenly taken into hospital with our second child. I quit, and still am fuming about it.

Working for a tyrant now. Rules by pure fear of sacking you if make the smallest of errors.

If he wants to see you he bangs on the wall. We all have a number which rrlates to the bangs.

I'd leave but until the contra for market picks up I'm stuck here.

Just left the council after a 2 year spell, had a boss for the final year of that time. He only got the job as he was at risk of redundancy.

Kept saying this mantra after he started, which I later discovered was a word for word mission statement at the bottom of job adverts for the company.

Went through my work with a fine tooth comb after I challenged him for a stupid decision he was making, tried to pull me up for not seeing clients for a few weeks, forgetting I’d just had a fortnights holiday.

Used to threaten to pack in on a weekly basis, yet still turned up week on week.

Always bragging about his impeccable reputation yet everyone laughed at him behind his back.

He was thick though so easy to read and stay ahead of him.

Satisfying part was moving on and the fact my new employer (also previous employer) didn’t ask him for a reference. He was gutted and moaned that they were breaching employment law by not asking.

What a buffoon.

christ on a bike. God bless xx

i've only had one boss who was really bad. a few who were poor who were just treat with contempt.
the bad one worked his way up from the tools. he wasn't good on them either. he got the job by being a snake and a big bastard who would turn a blind eye to his townie mates and try to bully others.
there were redundancies at this place and unfortunately at the time there was no agreement in place so they just got rid of people they thought were a nuisance and those who would speak their mind. a lot of lads were dreading the call to go into the office as they knew what it was for. it was very sad watching lads with families and homes leaving.
anyway this bloke did all the dirty work and got rid of people. about an hour later he was called into the office and his boss fired him as well. he was escorted from the place, a big crowd gathered to watch him go and cheered the bastard off. as much as i despised him i didn't join in, he might have been a despicable bastard but i don't like to see people lose their livelihood. i was just happy a bit poetic justice had been carried out.

All the bosses I had when I worked at Brewsters in Bishop were total wankers. Not a big surprise, but there you go.

The other worst boss I had was at my last place. I have no idea why she was hired or what she said to convince them she was the right person.
She was absolutely f***ing useless.

I once had a German woman who gave me a disciplinary for being ill.

Also some old school 'CJ' type who wouldn't even interview me for a temporary civil service EO job because he was "a great believer in horses for courses". Prick.

Used to have this fat mess of a female boss, young ish too (compared to a mostly male dominated team who the vast majority were older than her - she was only like 24 or so). Anyway, she started treating a few of the staff like absolute shit, managed to push a few out the door or in to other departments. She then came for me. I stuck in a grievance case that included some sexual harassment (not her coming on to me, and not something I would normally be bothered by) which she copped to even though I was unable.to provide any evidence. The grievance wasn't upheld (only 2 points of 7 or so) but the bitch went off on stress and never came back. So I count that as a win.
