More rumours BSA is going to get sacked

Nothing wrong with a bit of ambition at all. Just seems harsh sacking a manger when he's about a place below where you can realistically get to.It's all relative though and just how a clubs supporters see themselves and what they aren't used to.
Pardew got us a 5th place finish and had an excellent season yet is still despised by 95% of Newcastle fans to this day. If he had done that at Sunderland /boro /West Ham for example he would have legendary status forever.

it's not silly at all. Sunderland & Everton are clubs of a similar stature. Sunderland & Boreham Wood aren't.

Rose tinted spectacles there mate. We’ve been seen as the best of the rest for about a decade now.

Your decade in the premier league, I think you’re highest finish was 11th by a manager most of you now hate

would you rather finish 13th-16th with Martinez (or similar) or 7th with Allardyce?

Not every foreign manager is like Martinez though.

Silva’s play is all about high pressing and attention to detail for example, something Martinez quite openly neglected.

That was a time before Man City and Tottenham had made it a top 6.

Finishing 5th or 6th with what was a good Bolton side is the equivalent of 7th now which only gets you into Europe if cups go your way.

you brought up Allardyce's managerial history & suggested he's never achieved anything. I provided a counter argument.

that good Bolton side (that drew with Bayern Munich and beat Atletico Madrid over two legs) was built by Allardyce btw. Not bad for a manager with no history of success over 3 decades. ;)

Big Sam will not be at Everton next season. Neither will he be at Sunderland. He will sit and wait until a bottom half club struggles next season maybe November time and then whadya know he'll appear again and give them a decent chance of surviving when they sack their manager.

Not quite sure why Everton fans passionately hate him so much mind. They knew what they were getting and he's done exactly what they wanted? Were they expecting to get into Europe from their appalling start.

Everton's maximum finish (for me anyway) is probably 7th and he's not a million miles away. They may get a shock with the new bloke that comes in.

The thing is he was only ever wanted here by Moshiri for six months and he was the one that bent us over for an 18 month contract (presumably for a bigger pay-off) so during those six months he had to prove to Moshiri that he was the man for another season and he simply hasn’t.

Drawing with Bayern and beating Atletico isn’t a success or achievement mate.

Early to Mid 00s it was Man U Liverpool Chelsea Arsenal then Newcastle spurs Everton as the next pack. Man City got the money, Ashley took Newcastle backwards and spurs kicked on and Everton have still mainly stayed on the coat tails of that top 6

If anyone is actually interested in the reasons it’s not worked out for him and can put aside the job he did at Sunderland then here’s some of them I can see:

1) The football has been horrible. Doesn’t matter whether it wasn’t when he was at Sunderland. It has been here....

Worth saying that he wasn’t actually at your club for very long and you could easily have been fed up quickly with him yourselves had he stayed. As that’s what happened with O’Neill, Di Canio, Payet and Advocaat before him.

You're wasting your time. People have forgotten that the majority of his time here was garbage with him throwing points away by being negative and trying desperately to get the likes of Rodwell in the team at the expense of results. He got a few wins toward the end of the season and it was enough to keep up above two other crap teams. It was dramatic and exciting but it was hardly a managerial masterclass but in true Allardyce style he's made out as though he is perfect.

Your supporters can see through him and hopefully you'll give it a go with someone more exciting next season.

Yeah think it was more Aston Villa than Newcastle for the latter part of the decade.

Hiring uninspiring managers was their downfall in the end.

That's it. Him and the chairman both knew he was only there till May it was only an 18 month deal to make it worth his while with the pay off.

Yeah Leeds early 00s for a little bit too then villa 2009 time when we were a shambles.

It’ll be Marco Silva and we’ll see. He’s definitely more likely to bring us success.

We’re never going to be in danger of relegation with our players so there’s no point in wasting a season with Allardyce.

We’d blew our load by hiring him to soon in the first place.

You’re argument that we’re 8th would be more relevant if the league wasn’t top 6 and “the rest” from 7th down.

Also if it wasn’t abundantly obvious we had the 7th best squad in the league.

No miracle has occurred here.

It’s not even a case of what he’s done this season.

It’s whether we have confidence of him progressing next season and everything has pointed to the answer “No”.
Delusional! You would have been skirting with relegation, oh you still were with allardyce, what makes you think you have a god given right to not be fighting relegation every year every club outside the top six is fighting relegation

Like I say a lot of it is just what your used to as well. Us shamefully hounding Sir Bobby out after coming 5th is the worst of the lot regarding sacking managers to be honest

Because even when we’ve been terrible the worst we’ve done is 11th in the last 15 years or so and we’re in a much better position on and off the field now.

I think it’s odd how much you think the top six have a god given right to remain in the top six.

If Allardyce had shown that he could progress this club then he wouldn’t be leaving, regardless of what the fans think.

Sunderland have always had a attitude of accepting mediocrity though and not saying anything that could be seen as ambitious or delusional incase they look like mags. Someone has got to break in there and will do soon enough.

He was given a remit to save the club from the championship, he did it and the signings he made in January helped massively.

I just think you are a deluded idiot to be honest

I can't see us making a similar Grayson mistake again.

We need a lift & someone who can bring it all together.

Big Sam would be right in thinking that he owes our fans.

Something about him & Sunderland.

We were 13th when he took over with 26 matches left in the season having faced the toughest of fixtures to start a season.

In retrospect we weren’t in as much trouble as it looked.

I’m sorry you think aspiring to be more than 7th when you’re probably the 7th best team anyway and wanting to win a trophy is deluded.

Wonder if you’d have been saying the same sort of things about Spurs and Juande Ramos when they were struggling about 12/13 years ago.

Reality check, Everton will never be challenging for the title or champions league, it’s over!
May aswell have a sub league and then maybe, until then it’s over
