Lap of Honour around the pitch before the Wolves game?
TBF to "Sheasy", he's probably played ten times more games this season than he should have done/would have expected to.
So if this was the case, he expected to just use SAFC's facilities to keep in good shape a few times a week, maybe turn out for the odd game and collect his 30\40k a week? that sounds ridiculous, wouldn't it have been better to get shot and sign a young centre back that could run, jump and defend and turn out week in week out, for half that wage, is it any wonder the clubs heading down the shitter, if this is the way they think.

This. O'Shea is employed as a full time professional footballer. Not a part timer or ready to be used sparingly. If he isn't capable he shouldn't be paid a salary for a job he can't do. It's not injury we're talking about. It's competence and O'Shea us to longer capable of competence at our level.

John O’Shea expected to play this season. He had an offer from wolves to be on the bench. Are people forgetting it’s a World Cup year.
John O’Shea wanted to be part of the Ireland team and needed to be playing to even stand a chance.
People saying he was happy to play a bit part for us this season are crazy.
Hopefully that’s him done now. An absolute train wreck of a defender this season, he’s been appalling for years.
Also just because he’s supposedly a nice bloke around the training ground doesn’t take away from the fact he’s a pile of crap on the pitch. He’s supposedly a leader and organiser and we’ve got the worst defence ever.

This is patently true to anyone who can judge a defender and Captain.

Player of the year

His face summed it all up!

TBF to o Shea, his job this season was to be on the bench and to show his experience to younger players, injuries to Kone, Marc Wilson changed things, o Shea played too many games...

That's rubbish. See Jonny's reply above.

Grief Jos all you want, but he was our best defender this season. I know that's not much but it's hard to organise and play alongside posters who are absolutely terrible or just don't give a shit.

Jos did care, was always available and I don't think let us down as much as the rest of the squad did

100% spot on mate

It would be interesting to know how many goals were conceded from crosses and corners, I reckon a fair percentage.

I haven't checked but gut feeling informs me that we were woeful in that department, at both ends of the pitch. In my view it's an indication of the lack of courage and commitment from the defence in particular and the squad in general.

Yes.
And partly because we didn't, we are where we are.
