What's wrong with giving it to Wahbi Khazri? Played 23 league games for Stade Rennais scored 9. Played 4 games scored 2, and Stade just got beat in the semi finals by Paris St Germain who went on to win it. Our (own) best player by far this season !

That performance at Bury was enough for him to not get it

The club provide the venue, nothing more. The event is organised by SAFCSA, and only their members can vote. If there's a PR gaffe, it's come from SAFCSA.

Sorry but the event has been run by the Branch Liaison Council for the last 14 years and only Branches within that group can vote for the four awards. The men's trophies are the original SAFCSA awards and the BLC purchased the Ladies trophies.
The event is pre planed from around January/February and rightly or wrongly they decided to go ahead with it. Also every penny raised surrounding the evening goes to charity.

These people travel miles to watch games so guess they are entirely to have it

Just think a better statement would have been to not have it this year as nobody is anywhere near deserving it

In my opinion

The point remains that the event is not the club's, it's the supporters'. While the club PR machine is less than perfect, to put it mildly, on this occasion it would be unfair to point the finger at the club.

I'm not disagreeing. I just think that, on this occasion, to point the finger at the club is missing the target.

I am not pointing the finger at the club

Totally agree but I was only clarifying who arranged the evening.

Their way of convincing him to stay next season IMO,

Same for Asoro. I'm a big fan but hes not been the best young player (Honeyman) so hoy an award at him, more likely to sign a new deal ready for League One

Lap of Honour around the pitch before the Wolves game?
TBF to "Sheasy", he's probably played ten times more games this season than he should have done/would have expected to.
