Wow, you have a seriously high bar for quality you'd find acceptable. I can't help thinking you would be disappointed with who we could afford to bring in as a replacement for League 1.
Au contraire mon brave. Your average pub team centre back would be a more than adequate like for like replacement. Granted, it would require a considerable step up from O'Shea level to achieve L1 competence

Ah, right oh, I see. I stand by my comments. They represent my true point of view. I honestly think O'Shea is an incompetent player who was finished a long time ago. I can't make it any plainer

You can't seriously believe that a bloke who just played almost all our matches in the Championship, keeping various other professionals and all our youths out of the team, and won our player of the year award, could be replaced like for like in his position in our team by an average pub team player. Not unless you believe ALL the rest of the defenders at the club at every age level are below the average pub team level.

The pub player remark was tongue in cheek but the remainder stands

Feel a bit sorry for JOS. Clearly he's well past his best these days and he would only have expected to have been a bit part player this season I wouldn't have thought. Unlike a lot of the others he's one who I can't complain about his professionalism or effort, its just his legs have gone.

Imagine he would have been embarrassed having to pick up that award.

He’s been f***ing shite, and as for being a leader he’s been up there with the worst leaders we’ve ever had. Lost count of how many times we’ve conceded and he’s just tossed his arms up and turned around walking away, Honeyman has been a bigger leader on the pitch than any of our so called senior pros. f***ing joke of an award the club shouldn’t even be having these man, tone deaf once again.

I bet he's proud as punch, club captain and player of the year for the worse team ever in Sunderland's entire history, well done John lad, well done.

Fwiw, I do think JOS and Catts care about the club and they will be gutted about how far we have fallen. That said, both have been poor this season and they need to take their share of the responsibility.
