Well yeah that is something I have always agreed with tbh.
The focus should be solely on what’s going on, on the field
My point has always been that the actual cricket on show is very good to watch and it is nothing new that people want to watch big shots as I believe that has always been the case.
Even in local club cricket well before T20,local people came to watch more when the overseas professional was playing,and that was not to see him beat the bat while bowling it was to watch big shots,and I also think a lot of fans prefer the game been more in favour of the batsman.
However like I say I fully agree this new idea is going to far in that favour.

Those 8 county grounds being used, will get the pick of the other tens best players and whilst those players are performing for the franchises, I think it's very naive to think that one or two, will not be tempted to sign on for the teams who play at these 8 select grounds
We've seen it already with Jennings, onions, borthwick, stoneman and coughlin going to the club's where these franchises are to be based.
Imo, it will lead clearly to these eight creating a monopoly of talent.
Just want to add, I'm all in favour of cricket in any form, but I'm totally against this rush to only eight grounds in the country, having it
All in or none in, is my view

I have to agree. Whilst I'm not a fan of this 100 ball idea, I dont see hoe it makes things simpler if anything seems more a faff with 15 overs and a random 10 balls, but that doesn't bother us like the unnecessaryness of having a separate competition with new teams instead of just using the existing structure and teams.
How does ostracising existing teams and fans help generate goodwill and new fans?

Well because bowlers need to get off their fat arses, apart from Anderson and Broad, and learn how to f***ing bowl, rather that the pitch doing the work.

Having given this a couple of seconds of thought.....
If they are going to do 100 balls then just do away with overs and let 5 bowlers do 20 balls each, and let them bowl through or stop at any point. Would add another element of tactics to the game, seeing as we couldn't give a shit about the sanctity of the game anymore.
So there you go, I gave that exactly 5 seconds of thought and came up with something better than the ECB.

Countdown from 100 balls makes sense for those non cricket followers. People are saying it will be confusing with the 10 ball over etc, but essentially it doesn't matter if the main theme is counting down from 10

Club cricketers knew all about T20 before the counties started playing it and could identify with the format. This new idea has been dreamt up from cloud cuckoo land and doesn't resemble anything we know.

The new fans will be real though.
There's a group of people on here that think that cos T20 crowds have recently increased from two men and a dog to three men and a dog it's a booming tournament, when it isn't.
I think this is a horrible bastardisation of cricket but equally I think that the 'new ECB' will market it well and generate a lot of interest in the game.
