If we'd kept Mannone .....

The 3 tossers signed to replace him have costs us around 30 points between the 3 of them this season.
We had a decent championship goalie and we decided to trade him in for 2 million. A bad move that has cost us our place in the league. Well done Zoolander.

No one is disputing the 3 keepers we have are poor... but Mannone would have made no improvement to this season

You obviously don’t remember the howlers he made

No chance he’d have got us another 5 points let alone 15

Camp has cost us 4 points in 4 days. Ruiter let 2 through his hands against Millwall and was at fault for a least 1 against Bolton, another 4. Steele was at fault for us not winning at Sheffield Wednesday and we were absolutely fine at QPR until he was sent off, there's another 3. So, off the top of my head, 6 games and 11 points dropped due to very simple goalkeeping errors and of course there are many more than that.

Yes just yes, its that simple

What is simple is the fact that these 3 clowns have cost us a hell of a lot of points, more than in any season in our history.

I think we would have had at least another 10-15 points and thereore be mid table mediocrity instead of relegation fodder.
Hard to say what would have happened but you're probably spot on. That said Martin Bain thinks it was good business for the club.

This is true but Mannone didn't want to renew his contract . He wanted one last chance to get a decent signing on fee to secure his and his family's future ,can't blame him for that .
We should be stringing up the scouts who were responsible for his 3 replacements ,none of whom were up to standard.
Strange when you think most seasons we have had at least 3 competent keepers on the books.

Mannone was capable of howlers...but this trio are dreadful all the time. Our defenders aren't very good but playing in front of any of that sad sack trio would make you shit yourself.

10 points minimum more we'd have with a half reasonable keeper

Exactly. Mannone really had his moments of madness but played a full season in the Premier League for us when we were at the bottom for its entirety and certainly didn't cost us anywhere near the amount of points these clowns have and that was up against some of the best strikers around. A howler and loss of form at times versus costing us a goal every single week.

It is impossible to quantify. You cannot assume that a particular error in a game 'cost us 2 points', because if that particular error hadn't occurred, then the entire rest of that game is different. The opposition may well have still won/drawn the game, making the 'error' redundant.

All we can really say, is that Vito Mannone is definitely a better GK than any of the 3 on our books now, which is ridiculous when we only got 2m for him and spent half of that on Steele (who is now 3rd choice) and Vaughan (who was in and out quicker than hooker's punter).

In replacing Mannone, we've spent more than 25% of the fee received, and are paying a wage to 3 goalkeepers, all of whom are worse than him.

Completely agree with all of that. Of course we can't quantify what might have happened but I think we all know that these 3 jugglers have cost us a lot of goals and, conceding soft goals has been our Achilles heel all season.

:lol::eek: what the fucl

The keepers are literally costing us games and points every week, 2 points today for example

How on earth did you work that out, we'd have stayed up comfortably

Never seen a situation like it

Mannone made many mistakes, he was just rescued by a better defence in front of him. He’s a poor keeper.. he let one in from 35 yards today and didn’t move, and was stuck to his line for catts header....

What is just as simple is Mannone conceded an average of nearly 1.5 goals per game and made at least 12 mistakes leading to goals.

I remember them well. Just as I remember the amount of times he saved our bacon.

You say he was rescued by a poor defence but we were playing against far better strikers so it's all relative. What I saw yesterday was one howler and another Camp could have stopped against a wonder strike and one Mannone could have stopped so no comparison there really.
Are you saying Mannone should have kept McNair's strike out?

I have never seen anything so inept as the incident leading to the penalty yesterday. The ball was within his reach but he managed to clutch the player instead!

There first one was literally trickling to him as well and it came out of his grasp nearly at the same pace.

No doubt about it. Bain should be sued for working against the club as no one can be as bad as him, must be on a mission to destroy the club.
