Well it is relevant. It's all relevant to how many assets you're losing and net spend is a lot more important than gross spend when judging a clubs transfer dealings.

No one could expect a business to sell vital machinery and not replace it, as the business would be unable to function. However, if you can replace said machinery at a cheaper price, and then perform even better with reduced cost, it's a successful model.

It' not relevant to judging a manager as these days, the CEO's deal with the financial side.
He still brought £80m worth of players to the club and yet those who won't have a bad word said about him are saying he's performed a miracle keeping a side of average players up.

You can't say the CEOs deal with the financial side and then use how much he (isn't it the CEOs?) have spent as a bass for his performance. It's massively contradictory.

Stop pulling me back in ffs.

Ultimately, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Regardless of Sunderland spite, Benitez has the absolute trust and respect of all the supporters.

Often when team selections come through or substitutions made there is very little questioning of decisions.

Rafa knows best. Master of his craft.

It still baffles me how you lot dont understand 'Net profit'. If i had a car that I then sold for 20k and I bought a new car for 5k I have a shitter car. Yes I may also have 15k but what good is that if I never use it? Rafa has done well with the squad he has.

Also he isnt above criticism and I have previously.

Done a cracking job
Don’t mind him tbh - he was good to stay at Newcastle when they went down - I’m sure he could have had alternatives
What he inherited and what he's spent they're about where they should be.
He's done a decent job, no more no less.

Football transfers don't work like that though. You could sell a player for a huge sum and get a cheaper replacement who turns out to be better.

It's not contradictory at all. He chooses the players within his budget restraints given so, whatever they cost individually isn't really his problem. He still brought that amount of players to the club.
What I'm saying is, your lot go on like he has a squad of Championship players at his disposal whereas who in the Championship is able to bring in that calibre of player?

But its a risk and you are gambling on the hope they are good. You are of course right.
