Shearer, Lee and Steve Howdy and Steve Stone (played for the same football club and we had a game between different age groups).

Another one for joe Allon ( ex mag), he played for donwell juniors and I was made center half for st Joseph’s for the day as regular lad was off.
Joe scored six and I plied my trade further up the pitch after that.
KMc used to handle him well for St Bob's, marked Gazza out of the game too

David Burrows back in my school days in Birmingham

He was quality but in the same tournament was a fantastic player called Mark Burke who was head and shoulders above everyone. Went on to play for wolves I think but one of these players who never quite realised his potential

Unlike me, who did actually realise mine, only to find out there wasn’t that much there !!

Clive Mendonca, built like a brick shit house at 15.

Also slightly off tack but Guy Whittingham was one of the PTI’s when I was in my army trade training.
Bordon by any chance? Same as me.

I played against Kit Symons and Kinkladze once. I was given the job of trying to man mark Kinkladze. I couldn’t get close enough to even kick him. He kept chuckling to himself when he went past me (which was all the time).

I played against David Johnson (ex Ipswich & Bury). Legs like tree trunks and impossible to knock off the ball. He was a whiny, miserable sod.

Fouled Paul Simpson to give away a penalty at Old Trafford in a friendly game.

I'm sure I played against Tony Philliskirk for Hylton Colliery Juniors in the Hetton Youth League around 1981\82 although I'm not 100% sure

Mark Procter & Peter Brine when they were both at Boro, don't think Proctor had broke into the first team at the point.

Lua Lua. The original one. He was a ringer in a five a side game. Was terrified of being fouled as was playing for Newcastle at the time. Plus played with a keeper who'd played in European Cup for HJK helsinki in late 80s against Milan with Van Basten, Baresi etc. Van Basten scored past him. Was a fat lad when i played with him. Think he'd become a sales rep or something.

Asprilla at Stanley 5 a side at the Louisa centre, about 6/8 year ago. one of the lads we played with was friends with his translator or some shite like that. Didn’t expect him to turn up but there was with this fat translator and his young un. He was untouchable, never ran, just swanned about with a pair of sambas on nutmegging all of us and kicking it off our shins so we scored own goals. Used to have a horse named after him at a farm in Lanchester that was trained by Brian Ellison n all, met him there when I was a kid.

That same farm was incidentally along the road from Alan Dickmans farm, father of Jonjo and Elliott.

Went to school with Ben Clark he was 4/5 years older than me tho, Michael Kay as well who was younger than me. Michael was really good for his age, could tell he had something about him, think he’s dropped out of football all together now.

James Marwood at school as well, Brian’s son, used to come in fully kitted out in brand new nike stuff all the time, was always a good player at school.
