Coleman/Bain Q and A with fans.

What an absolute shambles, why agree to something like this then pull out, looks absolutely ridiculous.

If that’s true might explain it like.
And so it starts I’m afraid

Saw the worm turn against cowie all those years ago when the windows started going in at roker Park and then of course we saw fans trampled by police horses when they decided that they’d had enough of Murray, now Bain gets it full on.

Whilst that sort of behaviour is totally out of order Bain hasn’t endeared himself to the fans, Insulting RAWA and generally taking the piss. Our fans aren’t the most understanding when they decide that enough is enough and it looks like the gloves are off.

If I were Bain I’d be looking for the quickest way out of Sunderland. Absolutely no chance would I be thinking of staying if I were him. Remember as well we haven’t gone down yet. Imagine what happens when that transpires.

Shoddy antics from a small section of our fans and out of order, but not surprising.

With people like Keith Charlton asking Bain what it was like being a male model or what his favourite meal is
Bit of a tosser comment tbh. Keith is a cracking lad. Goes home and away. Loves the bones of the club.

Aye, we really struggle. The company I work for often get offered tickets for a box at Newcastle and Sunderland. When Newcastle ones are offered they're snapped up, ours aren't, that was the case even when we were in the higher division. If it was Chelsea or man city or someone they'd get used but otherwise people wouldn't bother. It's not that they're all mags, it's simply location, they see it as a great chance to have a few drinks in Newcastle, go to the match then be straight out for a Saturday night in Newcastle, it's more of a hassle with Sunderland.

Equally when inviting clients to use the box, any who travel from outside the region find it a piece of piss to get to Newcastle, the extra hassle of the metro there and back puts them off Sunderland. It's a pain in the arse but location does cost us with regards to hospitality and that was before we were shit, must be like a ghost town in the boxes now

Counted 3/4 boxes in use at the Ipswich game!

Aye, if there's threats being made then you can understand them calling it off. If I was Bain (shudder) I wouldn't be turning up somewhere where some idiot might try and assault me. That being said I'm not sure what they thought the reaction was going to be? They must have known that as soon as it was announced some would make daft comments.

Sounds like @GarethQ is suggesting they really just wanted Coleman there. That was obviously the best course of action all along, I think the fans would have a good chat about football with Coleman. Why the club thought sticking Bain there as well was a good thing baffles me. No one likes the fucker and we know for a fact that he wouldn't be giving straight answers anyway so even if he was asked questions about his part of the business he wouldn't really be able to say anything. Pointless having him there. Should have just put up the football man and left all the business shit to one side for a night, especially when it's linked to Bradley's foundation
Cracking post. Bain is about as popular as a fart in a space suit. No way would I even think of turning up at such an event if I were him.

Martin and Chris

Do you feel that the fans need to shoulder some responsibility for the clubs current position?

Is not having the ‘12th man’ in our home games having an effect?

Probably right, maybe they thought with it being linked to the foundation it might temper some of the aggression and a chance to engage.

I think the point being made is that the likes of KC serve no purpose in the groups. They just want to be part of the clique and meet players etc.
I’m hearing stories of the usual suspects turning up at meetings with the club where this is supposed to be serious stuff and they start the meetings by asking for bains autograph and shit like that. They need to pack this in and stop licking the clubs arse. No wonder the club don’t take the fans seriously. Pathetic.

Bain doing his end in over ALS producing a “short out” cover. Wtf do they expect?

Wouldn’t surprise me. It’s about getting autographs and photos rather than actually offering anything up.

‘I had a meeting with SAFC’

No you didn’t, you sat there like a lovesick puppy while a meeting occurred around you.

What do you want them to do? Unfurl a BAIN OUT! Banner and threaten him?

You’re missing the point.
There are certain people involved who should not be there.
Some have their own agendas and wouldn’t dare upset the club. Others aren’t capable of putting an argument across.

I honestly don’t know why our fans bother meeting with the club because they achieve next to nothing and haven’t done ever. The only time the club take the fans serious is when they/we riot, put windows out and threaten people. The club sharp get the message then. The football club has no interest in listening to our fans. They couldn’t care less about what we have to say.

The next few weeks has the capacity to go very badly. Dreading it tbh.

The sessions won’t get run if Bain and Coleman can’t control them.

You seriously think they’d sit there and let you tear into the clubs problems? It would be headline news man, you’ve got no chance.

Again missing the point.

The SLG, BLC and now RAWA have people going along to these meetings who are autograph and photo hunters that I wouldn’t let look after my cats let alone represent me as a fan.

There are others that have business interests that they want the club onside with.

So how likely are they to go in with a balanced, calm, sensible argument?

We are in about meetings with the club here, not Q and A’s.

As @Reiver was just saying in another thread, it is a business at the end of the day.

Bain and Coleman aren’t going to sit and slate their employers. If a few fans want an autograph I don’t see the harm in that.

We could do with a few more fans at the minute, 20,000 or so ‘hardcore’ ‘passionate’ fans seem to have disappeared

You don’t go along to what is in essance a business meeting and ask for autographs.

But naming and shaming...and a lad like Keith at that? Haway man.
