My SONOS is

This

Guessing you have the Sonos sub too? Whats it like? I got a Samsung soundbar about 5 years ago. Been top notch to be fair. Anyway since then I have scattered Sonos speakers throughout the house. Got a mixture of Play 1 and Play 3 throughout the house. Got two Play 1's paired in the living room so have considered the Play Bar and sub to hook up with them and create proper surround sound, but can't quite justify the cost, especially while the Samsung is working fine.

The SUB is brilliant (easy to control too). My living room setup is a playbar, sub and two SONOS 1s for surround. - The setup works well for me.

I have two SONOS 3's and a SUB in the bedroom, as well as some 5s and 1s dotted around the house

As soon as the Samsung flickers thats the next one then. Thought about shifting it upstairs but a bit overkill for a befroom TV, and the Sonos Sub/Playbar is so pricey!

Just mounted mine. 65" centre of wall and I've fished the HDMI's to the bottom right of the wall (Approx 4m away) with my telescopic rod. I've wall mounted my sound bar beneath the TV, 10 cm gap, running on ARC.

TV has 4 HDMI sockets, I've put 6 behind the wall. 2 spare in case any fail and an ethernet . Took less than a hour

Is the Ethernet to run down directly into your router then? Mine is over the other side of the room and I’m a bit concerned about relying on wifi.

How far up off the floor is the TV?

Yes mate.

TV is approx. 1600mm off the floor. Ethernet plugged in the back, into the wall, then out into the router. If your router is quite a distance away, might be worth dropping the Ethernet straight down and hiding it behind a skirting board if you have one? Otherwise, you will probably have to make a couple of holes to get it where you need to be

Its only about 12 foot away. Could run a long one under the floor maybe?

Is that 1600mm to centre or bottom?

Aye. It's spot on.
I learned at my last house that high tv's aren't comfortable overall.

Just considering either that height or about a foot higher to reduce sticky handprints

Ah if you have bairns aye... but that height leaves about 6inches above a media unit and is just easier to watch...And move/adjust. They're f***ing heavy.

To the bottom mate, I'll get a picture when I get in from work.

Yeah whack it under the floorboards, just make sure you get cat 6 ethernet at that distance

That's a phenomenal amount of money on all that SONOS gear!

On an unrelated note, will using a HDMI with ARC mean I can avoid a secondary remote for a soundbar / soundbase?
