Living room TV set up

I’m getting a 65” OLED for the living room- average sized room so probably too big but who cares?

I’m wall mounting so would you suggest just putting the maximum HDMIs in the wall- including one for a soundbar (ARC) to come out near the bottom for a unit below?

I want a soundbar to give the sound a bit more oomph. I’m a bit worried about the height of the TV though- I don’t want it too high but I’ve got a two year old who will want to plaster fingerprints all over it.

Anyone got any good examples of their living room set up/entertainment units?

Fill all possible connections and keep to one side for future use. Don’t worry about the height as OLED have amazing viewing angles. Only suffer if you use 3d.

Ours is quite high up but that was where it sat because of the bracket position. We have it so that the sockets and network points sit in the holes in the bracket. Ceiling is quite low as well.

With regards to the soundbar. You got sky TV? There sound thing is supposed to be good and you get a decent discount if you've got sky TV.

I do whats this about?

They sell their Soundbox for £249 if you have sky Q and multiroom. I've had one for a few weeks and its a big step up from normal telly speakers which isn't difficult as they're universally shite. There is forced dynamic range control so no big rumbly booms and bangs or owt. It sits between your skybox and telly via HDMI although there is one optical in for other sources.

It's a thing for annoying the neighbours mate.

I'm detached its more waking up the kids i;m worried about

Not sure I want to go the whole hog and get sky Q and multiroom like. This is getting expensive as it is!

I'd either

Build a frame on the wall so it creates a void for your cables to drop behind, this obviously hides the cables and its easy to pull new cables through if and when required.

Or

Chase the wall out enough for you to install trunking with enough room for cable movement.

Height wise I certainly would be looking upto a TV too much. I got rid of the fire to mount it eye level. If you need to look up and get a stiff neck then it really shouldn't be on the wall, a TV unit would be better.
