How long can Rafa last?

Not true really, a more correct statement would be a "disillusioned football fan"........Tired of the greed, money and media hype around the game now. Players are so overpaid that it is now beyond a joke.
Well at the end of the day you are paying no attention to premier league football etc, that is fine and your choice, I will not criticise that. Please do not criticise me for watching it and discussing it on a football forum.

Newcastle like Benitez therefore he must be shit.
Newcastle fans don't like Pardew therefore he must be good.
Newcastle fans don't like Ashley therefore he must be good.
Newcastle fans think the takeover would be an improvement, therefore it must be a disaster.

Tbf mate I can agree with that. I still have my personal opinion Rafa is overated though ;-)

Erm, when did I criticise you for watching it or commenting about it on this football forum that I just happens to be a moderator of?:eek:

Fair enough, but just because Newcastle fans are pleased to have him and use hyperbole to praise him, doesn't mean they necessarily think he's better than Guardiola or Simeone or whomever. Just that they think he's mint and for where we are right now, we're lucky to have a manager of his caliber. Bear in mind prior to Benitez we had; McClaren, Carver, Pardew... Even if you think he's only a good manager, that's a huge step up from the shit we've endured.

Since we are now agreeing on things I will come over to your side momentarily . I always laugh in match threads of Newcastle on here when all the comments are criticising the other team and not praising Newcastle. For instance if there was NUFC vs Watford match thread today and Newcastle won 3 nil, it would be because Watford never turned up etc, never because Newcastle did well. So bias some fans on both sides

Name a club where Benitez has been an outright failure?

Madrid, Napoli, Newcastle (got them relegated) and i would argue with the team he had at Liverpool he probably should of won more domestically, certainly should of won the league. I would have thrown him in jail for crimes against football by trying to replace Alonso with Barry.

I would also state the amount of money spent he should of made easier work of promotion last season but at the end of the day he got promotion and i guess that is all that matters. But i dont think a “good manager” needs to spend the amount of money he has to get a club promoted and for that club to stay in the league he got promoted too.

But hey, whats the point of trying to debate the pros and cons of a man who is beyond any sort of criticism.
