New boozer opening...

Ah right cheers.I didn't know The Peacock was linked with The Dun Cow.

The Dun Cow was ran by Camerons (Head of Steam Brand) for a while. Bloke who used to have Junipers does the food at The Dun Cow and The Peacock.

I had a look over there yesterday and the pub looks fantastic; the kind of place the Sunderland knockers on here would drink in, and rave about if the pub was in Newcastle, whilst never setting foot in the same pub because it is in Sunderland.
Its a shame for the owners in that they own all three pubs in the same area, so effectively competing with their other pubs for the punters, however the flip side is one more cracking boozer with not far to stagger between pints

Hopefully they can price it right so that they're full more often enough to make them viable long term.

David stopped doing the food at The Peacock last week I believe and just does The Chop House, upstairs in The Dun Cow now

A tough one to get right - they wont want boozers from the Tramps Triangle in, but similarly they need more punters than they currently get in The Peacock.

I'm hoping they compliment each other in the same way as The Forth and Town Wall do in Newcastle.
There were certainly plenty of people trying to get in on Thursday morning when we were meeting the City of Culture judges.

The Town Wall and Forth are the pubs I go to in Newcastle more than any others I would say, so if they can do as well as those then they are on to a winner, naturally with less punters unfortunately as Central Station brings a lot of folk to that area

Went in today, it was busy with a good feel to the place. Staff slow, I guess that comes with it being new. Canny pint of Anarchy brown ale, our lass wanted Moretti but they had ran out of it last night. Got Staropramen instead, nice pint. I like it a lot.

Been in for bait with the bairn today, very nice, service was ok considering. There was about 3 bar staff when I was there. As I left a lad and lass took our seats but walked straight out. Wasn’t you was it @The Lambton Worm?
