Pros for buying SAFC vs NUFC

There are literally no pros for buying us compared to them, let's be honest.
The tax man might have something to say about that ... Why would someone pay 400 mil for the Magmugs when they don't even own the ground and would still be mid to bottom half of the table.

imo in the modern day the mags have already realised their potential under hall and keegan and blew it.
the closest we've come was under reid when we didn't capitalise.
if an owner wants to make a profit then we are a better bet than them lot up the road. they can't get many more fans in, can't sell many more tops and can't get much more exposure than they get at the minute. the tag of everybody's favourite second team has been and gone.
with us, we've just been managed and ran appallingly of late. with a bit money and investment we have more potential than a lot of clubs. i honestly thought keane was the man to create a ferguson type dynasty up here but that ended badly.
i don't blame short either, he's spunked an awful lot of money away to try to be successful. i just think he's been given really poor advice.

This crack is getting even more tiresome than the much-vaunted airport shite that we are supposed to spout.

Ferguson-type dynasty.

f***ing creased  If he'd got anywhere near what he achieved Man Utd would have poached him when they saw fit.

Of course we can sell more tops and of course we can get more exposure. You just have to look how our commercial revenue has massively stagnated compared to where we were ten years ago due to Ashley prioritising Sports Direct branding above any potential external investment.

Again, we're the deluded ones.

Leaving the actual clubs aside for a moment, you have to also consider that Sunderland as a place is an absolute monstrosity.

It is a stagnant, decaying mess. The general depression that hangs over the place will hardly be pursuasive in tempting somebody to part with millions.
This, the place is a dump, nufc have a better identity, better fan base, right in the city with all it has to offer

The mag's own delusion will see them sold for more alone, it's like seeing the biggest dick head in town inexplicably always finding a tidy lass to shack up with, one of life's true mysteries.

We have a better ground, state of the art training facility which is all paid for. We will be cheaper by around £200 million and have similar levels of debt.

They have a better squad, they have £100 million a year TV money but there is little doubt that if somebody wanted to "buy" the Championship then it could be done with SAFC without too much trouble. You would end up with a Premier league football club for a smaller investment than buying the mags.

In terms of fanbase both are similar and any threat of success and both stadiums would be sold out each week.

Depends what you want I guess....Sunderland is primed and ready for a revolution and for somebody to make themselves an absolute legend as an owner.....Newcastle is on a hiding to nothing unless you have the really big money to throw at it like the Arabs as massive spending in the Prem will buy you mid table these days.

Well you've definitely won the award for the most biased reply so far..... Can't believe this only got 5 likes tbh

I'm still waiting to see which Derby defeat it was at the Stadium of Light where Kieron Dyer thought the atmosphere was better tbh.

Difficult to argue with that mind, the fact the club has so many fans is mindblowing given the disgusting state of the "City"

Maybe when he was commentating?

Not sure its biased, no money to be made in a business that is already maximising its realistic revenue streams...Taken a business that is fucked and turning it round having bought it cheaply will always be the way to go surely?

So by this reckoning its not worth buying...Coca Cola,Apple,Microsoft,Amazon,Man United,The New York Yankees or any other superbly and massively profitable business as you cant make any money or revenue

You can tell you never went to business school

Best just buy VIlla pop and Sinclair ....fuck Apple and Coca Cola

The serious lack of common sense on here and unlimited bias is staggering

Would you buy a 5k car and put 15k into it or just buy a 20k car straight off??

Crap examples, football is a rather unique business dont you think?

Ashley likes to buy businesses that are basically fucked and on the cheap.

Cause he likes making money.....Would have him at SAFC over that clown we have in charge in a heart beat (and I hate the fucker)

You do know Ellis Short has put far more externally into Sunderland than Ashley has into Newcastle, right?

If the £5k car was a fucked classic that with 15k of investment would be worth massively more than your original investment then I would buy that over a shiny new car that is already at its max value.

The difference is how that money has been spent, if Ashley had done to you what Short has done to SAFC then your lot would be off the Tyne Bridge on mass. FFS you were whining about him when you were finishing in the top half of the Premier League.

Agreed, this is a real tangible asset to any prospective buyer

Nonsense, the mags spend £150 million every year

Taken us to a cup final, kept us in the division for ten years and SIX IN A RAAAA?

Sunderland fans were whining about Bruce and he finished in the top half of the league 'ffs'. Not sure what your point is.

You mentioned businesses that have maximized their earning haven't them businesses then. Any business always improves their earning potential, do you think Man United, Real Madrid,Barcelona or the New York Yankees or any NFL franchise just stagnates...youre a f***ing idiot if you do

SAFC has lost money hand over fist even when given oodles of cash from mega bucks TV deals...its not a sustainable business at that level. To improve revenue youd have to increase prices across the board. If you cant get fans to come with free tickets how the fuck are you going to get fans to come at 50 quid a head

Just admit it as a business model NUFC is a far bigger attraction.....Its like the difference between buying a house in Darras Hall to Hendon

I wonder if Man Utd have increased their earnings since the Glazers bought them? Think I'll go and check. Surely as an elite club in Europe at the time they were 'maxed out'

These mags are well and truly rattled. Chomping away

What are these mags here for anyway. All over here like a rash when they are winning but they are nowhere to be seen when things are bad. You didn't hear a peep from them when they were relegated

Sad mag wanker

Anyone dropping in can feel free to quote the above to save time.
