Bolton certainly weren't and Blackburn were fine until his crazy sacking. West Ham as well were stabilised after he took over afte they were relegated. Yes he moaned in press about lack of backing etc but is that not just a bit of trying to force the boards hand? Benitez has been doing exactly that all summer.
But he's still there. Mind you, I'm sure his legal team knows what constructive dismissal is...

Yes have you got the stats to back your argument up or is it just your opinion

Put it this way if Benitez and allardyce had the same squad to pick from all season would there be much of a difference in the final league position
Over one season, no.
Over three seasons, yes

There’s a massive difference between Jay-Jay Okocha and the players he would have at his disposal if he were to get the job he thinks he deserves.
Djorkeaff (World Cup winner), hierro, campo and Anelka (all champs league winners).

It’s my opinion and I don’t think I have said otherwise. That no elite club has touched him with a barge pole gives a little gravitas to my theory.

I think Benitez would finish higher with the same group of players, yes. I know you’ll think otherwise. Bonus points for saying ‘not what happened last time lols’

So what's the reason

Where were you in the table when he was sacked just out of interest

Midtable, think we finished one position lower than when he was there by the end. He was dogshit and made Glenn Roeder look outstanding.

You are somehow going to think, making some shite point that "Keegan finished lower". You will however like many, will be oblivious to the fact that Allardyce was not driven out by the fans, and your view is based purely on the footage of two lads slagging him off in the Milburn stand. Allardyce was applauded off the pitch in his last game at Stoke away in the cup after presiding over the dullest 0-0 I have ever seen.

Hindsight has some how changed, to him being driven out mainly due to Allardyces interviews and him saying as much despite it not being true. We had been taken over by Ashley and he wanted his own man in. There was no consensus to get rid of him from the fans, as time passed his style of football looked even worse despite finishing lower because the football was so much better.

There is no need to be bitter in defending one of your greatest ever managers. He really isn't that good, he's the biggest fraud in football in every sense of the word.

The first three were in the twilight of their careers, man and Anelka was plucked from the wilderness.
Campo was 28. Anelka was a top player regardless of where he was plucked from and allardyce got him going. The other two were in twigjight of careers but still done well under Sam. Okocha was also a very good player who allardyce got best out of.

Campo was more or less finished by the time he was in his late twenties, he wouldn’t have ended up at Bolton otherwise.

Okocha, while good was a classic MOTD player. A goal record of around one in ten isn’t that good for an attacking midfielder tbf.

Like I say, he’d have far better players at his disposal if he did get a job that he thinks he deserves and he’s massively struggle imo.

Allardyce, always had the whiff of someone dipping his hand in the till throughout his career.

It sickens me people like him and Harry Redknapp are given a free pass by Sky Sports despite their history.

Allegiances aside, Benitez seems to be a man of integrity. He runs a charitable foundation and has been a vociferous supporter of the Hillsborough campaign. As a man I have to admire him and we have to be big enough to admit we would love someone of his gravitas at Sunderland.

He wasn't finished though as he done well for Bolton.
We'll never know how well he'd do but whenever he's had good players they've done well under him.

This is a massive reason why we have taken to him so much.

Aye, it was true genius how he got the best out of Defoe by not playing him up top until Tovoinen got injured during a game.

Oh and he was f***ing dump with Michael Owen for us.

It was his second game in FFS not as if he persisted with it for a dozen games until his hand was forced. Owen was finished at your place man, had lost his pace and never done anything after allardyce either.
