They have a sensational bowling attack if it's fit.

2 world class batsman. Khawaja is class in Australia. Handscomb did well last summer.

Cook/Renshaw
Stoneman/Warner
Root/Smith
Vince/Khawaja
Malan/Handscomb
Stokes
/Maxwell
Bairstow/Wade or Nevill
Ali/Starc
Woakes/Cummins
Broad/Lyon
Anderson/Hazlewood

Didn't Bangladesh stuff them recently?

Some selective pairings and debatable choices all round there

It's the batting line ups I'd likely expect. Moeen/Lyon would still be Lyon as a bowler.

You can swap Vince and Root around and then we win on one more. Albeit Root has got a lot to prove in Aus, Khawaja averages 63.

Anderson/Broad in Aus are crap.

Disclaimer I know Jimmy was class 6 years ago.

Even if I were to agree with your head to heads that's not how it works.

I'll give you that Vince and Malan don't really fill me full of confidence and I'll despair if Gary Balance gets another chance BUT Stokes and Ali (and Bairstow) are top quality all rounders - each of them justifies their position in the team in both specialist roles, something the Aussies just dont' have.

The nearest straight comparison would be Starc and Woakes and (based on averages - I know) Woakes comes out on top there.

As for Broad - 21 wickets at 27.5 in a losing tour wasn't crap.

Did as well as we did.

They also did far better in India.

Were playing them in Australia where it isn't trial by spin. Where players like Khawaja are gun.

I'm not saying I think we will win, I'm just saying it's not a slim chance. I've seen us have slim chances before over there. This I would say is 60/40 in favour of the convicts. I would say the bookies odds of 4/7 v 12/5 are fair. Both teams can look very good or decidedly average.

I suppose when you view that whole series a failure. That's a fair call.

I can't see woakes doing anything apart from pre summer 2016 and his post summer 2016 bowling.

Starcs gonna have a few bunnies in Ballance,Vince and Moeen IMO.

Australia played with a completely players in that series. Marsh,Marsh,Ferguson,Mennie,Voges,Burns,Maddinson,Bird,Siddle

Khawaja was the top scorer in the series and Smith was crap.

Fair enough. I agree they're big favourites for the series but they're beatable. Their bowling attack is the worry

No it doesn't, but it's the Sun and I wouldn't put it past them to record their own "footage" with some random ginger
